Jayden Post

I can't seem to develop any hate for this guy. What's wrong with me? He's just so....bland. Maybe he's got some idiotic tweets or a stupid blog....I'll check it out.

Really need this kid to stand up now. Has been gifted many chances of playing AFL without grasping one yet and runs around looking lost. Had one of the worst games i have ever seen from a tall defender in round one. Dropped marks, didnt spoil, was worried by the pressure, poor disposal and most significantly for me squibbed a contest with Jeff Gartlett of all people.

I had high hopes for the Postman after season 2009 but has gone backwards and if Richmond are to go forwards we need to nail 2nd round picks. I think that he needs to play this weekend with Grimes out and McGuane still injured however if he has a shocker like he did against Carlton than its papers stamped for him. If he can stand up and make a spot his own it will allow us to play Astbury forward when he gets back from injury replacing Miller in the 22.

Fire up Posty!

wouldn't say he's been gifted games. not a backman. must play forward.

Has had many chances at AFL level without doing anything of note.

He doesnt present hard enough as a forward. Played as a backman all his career i think it is there or bust for him.

Definitely not gifted games. Agree, forward is his position. Give him a few games and see what he can deliver otherwise on ya bike.

You think his form has warranted more games :o

Had a good enough pre season to be picked ahead of others.
Played a shocker round 1 and was sent back down.
Thought that was a bit harsh, given the same wasnt done to Vickery, King and others.

Would like Post to be told he has a minimum 3 games next time he is given a chance.

I thought he was very ordinary against Geelong and not overly flash v Freo either.

Agree. But if they go with Griffiths, they better do the same thing. The next 4 games is a wonderful opportunity for one of Post or Griffiths to get 4 games in a row no matter what happens.

Dud of the highest order..

Harsh but the bottom line is for a 2nd round pick, after a bright start he's been a disappointment.
Worst of all for mine is that he barely seems to have developed at all in 4 years.
Intestinal fortitude aside, unlike Griffiths I doubt he has the physical capabilities to make it in the AFL.
Clocks ticking for Jayden to show something. He'd better get a wriggle on.

Yep thats the concern...has not progressed at all.

He showed a bit in his first few games.

Agree. More than 1 game would've been nice. But if we backtrack a bit he was thrown around for a couple years up forward, back and even in the ruck to plug holes and then dumped when not a world beater straight up while others as were kept in the team to develop. I stand by that even if people don't rate him that highly. People said the same thing about Rance anyways for a fair while. His development all the way through has been poorly managed IMO.

No way Post is getting a game over the beloved paper mâché man though. Not if he's fit. Predict Griffiths comes in this week. Sadly I think Posts time is already up. Clock is not ticking it's stopped.
