Jayden Post

Dont think Jayden has been given much of a go and think he is being played in the wrong position as I think he is a forward.
If he stuffs up he is only given 1 chance and then its back to Coburg.
He kicked 5 goals a few weeks ago for Coburg and should be played in the forward line and back up the Mullet in the middle.
Miller isnt the future and Post must be given a decent run to show what he can do.

Agree. More than 1 game would've been nice. But if we backtrack a bit he was thrown around for a couple years up forward, back and even in the ruck to plug holes and then dumped when not a world beater straight up while others as were kept in the team to develop. I stand by that even if people don't rate him that highly. People said the same thing about Rance anyways for a fair while. His development all the way through has been poorly managed IMO.

No way Post is getting a game over the beloved paper mâché man though. Not if he's fit. Predict Griffiths comes in this week. Sadly I think Posts time is already up. Clock is not ticking it's stopped.
I'd say Post still suffers from Wallaceitis which has probably become malignant.

Many players who have struggled at AFL level would be lucky to have 23 games.
Many players who continue to struggle at AFL would be lucky to have played the 50 - 100 games they've already played.

If Post gets a go I'd like to see them stick with him for a few games and leave him in the one position. He had power forward written all over him when he first started, yet they seemed to want to develop him as a defender.

I'm sure Port could make a forward out of him.

Richmond obviously won't with our superstar goalkickers.

Post will be fine.

He just needs to keep performing in Coburg's backline and showing that he can do a bit when moved forward or into the ruck.

It's a long season and I'm sure, at 22yo, he'll get another chance.

Mind you, at season's end, he'd want to be adding another 5 kg to his frame.

Maybe so but then it never really got started.

Indeed. How many did Dave Gourdis get?

Over 4 years that's not alot of opportunity. 1st season had 6 games in a row as a 19 yo. Since then most was last season, at the end of the season where he was given 4 in a row. So other 13 games are all over the place. Needed to give him a good stint of games like others were given. Running out of time to do so this year again so his papers probably pretty close to getting stamped.

A bit harsh!
Never really given a good oppounity playing in the position since he was drafted to play in.
He is a forward,
Get rid of one of nahas or king and play him next to Riewolt and see how he goes.

Martin Riewolt Edwards
Post Vickery nahas

The second coming of Goo. Not in the coach's plans.

Bingo. You hark back to Gourdis not getting a game when we had a heap of injuries to kpd's and it looks to be exactly the same pattern.
Hardwick obviously doesn't rate him. Neither do I FWIW.

Posty needs to work on his game sense.
In his one game v Carlton he was caught in bad positions with his opponent getting a perfect sit for marks.
Physically he needs pace and strength.
His skills are good and he looks like a keen learner.
There are plenty ahead of him on the chopping block - McGuane, White, Graham, Connors.
I hope he gets another year.
Also I think he's a defender.

To be honest, I think Gourdis was nothing but an over-rated player by most on here. Pure fascination who never really proved he had the skills at AFL level. He was 100% Coburg.

It's obvious coaches would rather try out their drafted players compared to a rookie.

Most have their own opinion on Post, but as Phanto keeps reminding, he's just one of those talls who learn slowly.

Interesting then that in Goo's handful of AFL games, his numbers stack up a lot better than Jayden's.

Stats don't reflect the moment where Watts rag dolled the Goo, I'll just repeat that.. Watts rag dolled the Goo

Think Jayden needs to work on his urgency, decision making, work below his knees & agility before his size ILO.

Has some tools though & has been thrown around which hasnt helped him.
