Connor Menadue is an elite right foot kick, I reckon slightly more penetrating than Short. His left, while neat, doesn't have the same depth as Short's. But his pace buys him the space to get back onto his right. He's a yard quicker over 10 metres and 3 over 20. We've seen how quickly he can get from one end of the G to the other, with or without ball.
Connor hasn't had the chance to play the Short role (which is the Houli role). Not in the ones, anyway. He's behind Short developmentally so he's learnt it in the twos.
He got a taste of the ones for a few weeks, but as a wing-forward - tough gig for a skinny n00b. No one gives you the ball, unlike in the Short role. You have to run. You have to make every contest or everyone notices because KMac ain't always there to save ya (mostly he is. KMac is SuperGrover in a man-suit.).
Connor got dropped and racked up what - 26? - touches in the hail?
We've got cover for Short.
Gee spook. Menadue is not even in the same ball park as Short. Menadue will be lucky to be around next year while Short will play 150+ games
