I loved him as a kid as well, but history says the club won big time in that trade. I remember being really angry when it happened.

There were a few players from our Under 19s who had varying levels of success at other clubs without getting a senior game at Richmond.

Simon Verbeek had a good debut season at Carlton, John Klug the same at Adelaide, while of course Matthew Clarke went on to have a very good career after playing in our under 19s.

They are just 3, along with Ricky Jackson, off the top of my head.

I believed it was a big mistake to cut adam slater at the end of 95.
Big unit. Didn't get enough chances. He looked pretty ok V Adelaide in r22 , 1995

Slater was a lumbering dinosaur. Wouldn't have made it.

I'll never forget the Mother's Day massacre when Hoggy kicked 10 in our smashing of Scumwood. They were dark times, Hoggy was a star.

Looking at Hogg's stats, his 151st game was round 13, 1994 against Hawthorn and the Lions won.
He played another 33 games across the rest of 1994 and then 1995 and 1996 and lost every single one of them.

Great kick for goal was Hoggy very deliberate in his approach very much Michael Disco Roachesque in the way he went about his kicking for goal.

Loved Hoggy too but he got us Brodders and Butch which was a big win for the RFC and he was crocked not long after with his back.
