I too think that NOT playing each team twice ruins the AFL. I am old enough to remember when we finally went from 18 home and away matches to 22 and it was far better. I would also prefer to see everyone play twice and instead of a final 8 revert back to a final 4. In the many years of the final 4 there was only three winners from 4th, ( Richmond in '69 !) none from third and the rest split between first and second. A much fairer result and I also agree with Kennet that the pre-season competition is a waste of time. ( With all due respect to recent "premiers" Carlton and Geelong.
