Joel Bowden on SEN shortly

also said you had a chance of winning games playing possesion footy, did he see what happened when we tried to out posess the teams that thumped us by 100 points this year... We beat 1 team with possesion footy (adelaide) and even then we almost lost..

When you got big guys in ya forward line and start kicking it around and around you do not help your chances, i dont care what anyone says. Were not skillful enough to play possesion footy.

Not attractive to watch, not effective in our case, doesnt stop big defeats as proven this year. We need to work out a better plan for next year

He was asked about collingwoods choice to play tarrant and johnson, clearly a question to bait him. He answered it well and said no1 can answer the question unless they knew all the facts and said he couldnt have an opinion because he does not know the facts.

Then he said that richmond players do not have a curfue and its up to the individual to know when enoughs enough. Any player who crosses the line is made to go to a 6 am training session and 1 of the leadership group must be their to witness the session. I did not know of that rule.

Said he thinks his brother is better off down forward so long as he makes the most of his opportunities in front of goal, then said anyone can get a kick down in the backline but the difference in the game is when a player kicks goals which patrick can do.

Wouldnt mind getting a run through the midfield again but understands his role and is happy to do it if thats what terry is happy with.

Thats all i managed to hear. Hope it helps whoever missed it with a rough idea on what he spoke about

Thanks heaps Yobbo. Joel is extremely articulate and a wonderful representive of our club when he speaks publicly. :clap

Bad luck for whoever gets nominated from the leadership group to supervise this,
early morning for them

Agrred, he is the thinking mans footballer and will have a massive media career when he is done playing, that's if he wants to go that way.

An ex-Tiger in the media?
It's been a long time, since we've had a recently retired player head down that path..

I doubt Joel would head that way though. I think he's got more fulfilling plans for life after footy.
