Exactly, I have talked about Gibbs on another post he also kicked 3 goals. Tambling had him all day, although unless you had a wide screen TV you would never have known.

Stevens is a class act, if doesn't have three assists you think you are lucky.

Gibbs had Deledio and as usual Deledio's opponent did damage. Brett's a good attacking player but like many of our guys he doesn't run as hard when defence is needed.

Geez your a joke. When Jon was playing last week I was actually unable to watch his play, some bits of it were so bad. You really need to use that rush of blood to your head to get a few more neurons firing because all they are doing at the moment is making you look like an idiot.

Hey thats funny!...which part didnt you appreciate from my comment?
Bowden is unreliable, plays unaccountable football and makes us look bad.
Or was it that I put him in the same bracket as JON? At least JON puts in an honest effort even if he is not up to the task.

I hung my head in disappointment during the third quarter today when Joel took an uncontested mark on the half-back line in a lot of space and just stood there with the ball until the opposition had a chance to man up. Seriously, any player worth his salt would have run and had a couple of bounces and delivered into an open forward line. So what did Joel do? He waited and waited and then predictably just took a safe option and chipped across the ground. HORRIBLE FOOTBALL AND ITS TAKING US NOWHERE >:( >:( >:(

There was a change. Dledio flogged Gibbs for the ball in the first quarter and even pantsed him one on one a couple of times but Lids's ball use was well below his usual standard.

Gibbs got into the game in the second and was on top by... the third(?) when Bling was moved on to him IIRC.

Anyways I'll check this as Lids's game has to be measured against his time on Gibbs. In a way his career does.

Back to Bowden Fisher is not a class act. Bowden made him look very good at times today. Too good. Too many times.

Over the past few years I've been critical of Wallace's use of LMIDs. Fine to roll players through at times but to structure a team around a LMID is very bad coaching.

We wanna get Joel the hell out of the zoning backman role. No way to build a football team. It's a retograde step with a short life expectancy.

Did you notice when he did that there was not one option available

The worst thing he could have done was played on

Oh did you want a turnover?

With everyone baying 'kick the thing', I was thinking the same as you - no-one was making themselves an option.

30+ possession games mean nothing these days. Teams are averageing near 100 more possessions a game (from around 300, up to near 400) so an individual detting 30 means diddly.

And at only 20% contested, it's not good enough.

I'd have liked him to put on a turn of speed and carry it through the middle ala Deledio last week. But this bloke's 30 odd years old and can't do that. So he stops, props and gets another pointless uncontested possession that will get him another game next week.

NO I didn't want a turnover but at least try and be proactive and back the forwards to do their job. Just standing there and letting the blue filth settle was not the way to go. He's been chipping the ball across the ground for over ten years and it's gotten us nowhere. Time to try something else.

Tambling had Gibbs for most of the game.

Bowden plays soft unaccountable football living on past achievements. The sentimentalists within this club laud this hack who is 12 months past his use by date. His good games are so far between now even JON is more reliable! Bowden should go! !

I nearly choked when I read that bit. As much as I respect JB, I was feeling somewhat sympathetic with your sentiments, but then that comment came up and all your cred went out the window..............................

Joel sure is a polariser..... 30 touches mean nothing apparently until someone else is planting 15 of those into turnovers. Agree though we are better with Joel further up the field or as a taskmaster off the bench. I think the team limped to the break with more than its share of niggles - no excuse though. Would rather lose with Graham in the ruck, Collins hurting someone and Edwards out of the pocket.
