Joel Bowdens 200th this week

JB played great, injury riddled footy early, then 2 and a half seasons of poor, hesitant footy up until he was dropped.  Strangely, like Daffy before him, the media kept giving him raps.  Since then he's well and truly silenced me and become a lynchpin.  I'm a fan once again.  I've also been very impressed with his leadership around the club this year especially, really shown presence.  Speaks very well, straight shooter, good perspective and respectful.  Go JB.

Another thing, I reckon JB would be the best exponent of the baulk in the AFL.

Was listening to Joel on Club Corner the other night and he speaks so well. He's definately captain material in my books.
He has really matured as a person and player and I think he'll go onto great things after footy.

Great pic of Joel and B2 in my local paper this week. Apparently you can bid for them to cook a barbeque at home (together with a chef) for 16 people.
Proceed go to the Lighthouse Foundation.
"Eat Street." May 24th. Tickets can be bought.

I was a "Joel for Captain" supporter too (still am). Congratulations to him on his 200th and some wonderful moments in footy over the years. I have enormous respect for him, his willingness to speak out on indigenous issues. He's got a mighty big heart.

I was wondering earlier whether clubs with captains who are out for extended periods of time (say, longer than 4 weeks) are affected by the absence. Is it possible for 2 players to share the captaincy? Maybe rotate in the same season? Sugar does get the pointy end of the injury stick a lot so I think it would be good to have another leader on equal footing (rather than 'vice-).

Joel is a very impressive individual, if you ever get a chance to hear or see him interviewed listen & be impressed. Cogratulations on your 200th Joel. Hope you have many more top seasons for the Tigers. :thumbsup

Great job for anyone to get to 200, congratulations to JB. I liked his comments through the week about wanting to stick around for a premiership...both he and Richo will be great veterans to have if we do end up having a tilt at it years from now...especially if we've got ourselves into good enough financial shape to veteran list them.

What a way to celebrate your 200th Joel.  A masterful display of controlled football.  Not a lot of contested marks etc but fantasitc for my dream team.

Me thinks Joel is in line for his third Best and Fairest. :rofl :rofl :rofl

Fantastic effort by not only Joel but all the boys back there today - special mentions to Rainsy on roo and Polo on Burton... :clap

Well done Joel, tremendous effort not only today but over your tenure at Punt Road.

Went through the whole football sphere;

Promising youngster,
Young man yet to deliver on his potential,
Whipping boy on the way out with club and supporters,
Consistent footballer,
Multiple Jack Dyer medals
To now being one of the premier rebounding defenders of the modern era and one of the Tigers greats.

One thing about Joel that stands out to me is that he is a super intelligent guy who wants to know about things outside of football, wants to learn about all facets of the world. Always interested to hear what he has to say.

Fantastic 200th Joel. Marshalled the backline like a true General.
T'was great to see our team as committed to get over the line.
:o To beat the Crows at their own game. Puts a cherry on top.
