Josh Carr deserves more

boo hoo

chick's evidence at the tribunal was laughable so carr was rightfuly let off and the johnson hit looked worse because the squib stayed down for 5 mins

big deal!

So Johnson is a squib because he stayed down after being hit?
How much force was in the hit? How would you react if you got hit?

Fact remains, he hit a player that was not in play, not the first time he has done so.
He's got another weeks worth of suspension for a stupid act.
Great way to help team by not playing.

mate it was nothing more than a reminder to johnson of what afl footy is all about, it wasnt from behind just a swinging arm when both players were runnning past each other

why doesnt anyone call goodes a sniper for what he did to godfrey?

oh yeah he's a great player so lets forget about it

just wait until jake king gets a few more games under he's belt and im sure some of you will change your tunes pretty quickly

Sorry Justice, but since when is AFL footy about taking cheap shots away from the play? It's 2007, not 1957.

As for Goodes, it was a once off so he's hardly in Carr's league. It looked pretty silly too, so I don't think that he'll repeat it any time soon.

I can just see it now, young Foley's down behind play, struggling to move, the cameras to didn't pick anything up, but Josh Carr was seen running away, oh well, its just part of the game, nothing wrong with that ha ha ha ha and Johnson's run over to remonstrate with Carr and the umpire has pinned Johnson for grabbing Carr's jumper, Johnson leaves the ground under the blood rule, bit of claret spilling from the nose and Carr sends Fremantle forward again. Richmond supporters all cheer cause there is nothing wrong with a bit of fun sniping. Justice gets served and once again fortune follows the brave. Long live Josh Carr!

Goodes should have been rubbed out for that, the tribunal got it wrong.
Simple as that.
Goodes has had 2 incidents like that (hit into the back with force when ball not in play/being play, if he contiues, i would classify him as a sniper just like Carr.

I dont want the game to go soft, I am all for shirt fronts etc, but hitting blokes when not in play shouldnt be there.
You make them pay by hitting hard into CONTESTS, that shows true courage.
A CONTEST generally means a person has a reasonable chance of protection or expectation.

Also means the little sniper might get some back, would make them think twice.

I read in the newspaper today, Chris Connelly bagging opposition players for dobbing his boys in and that they are faking injuries or are faking being short of breath and that Carr isn't undisciplined. Don't they get it down there, the other teams are sick to death of Fremantle's crap. Football is football, not hand to hand combat and you should be able to run around the field without worrying about getting king hit or copping a rib tickler behind play, here's a suggestion for Fremantle, how about going in hard for the ball, working your guts out to win a contest and not have so many squibs who like beating up bottom or injury depleted sides. Pavlich, who I used to rate has in the past 15 months decided its better to play for free kicks and dive than win the ball fairly, I saw him deliver a good bump on Hunt on Saturday only to be beatin' to the ball by Hunt after he got up and then dived with minimal contact, from what I saw he dived 3 times and cried to the umpire for a undeserved 50 metre penalty. I don't think I have ever seen a more undisciplined, gutless, spineless, heartless, nutless, fair weather group of players at one club as in Fremantle. Stay down Dockers, your where you belong!
