Josh Gibcus

For me that's enough.
Give him a full.half next week-second half and pull him off after 25 minutes each quater to avoid any tiring problems which stress his body

I just switched on before 3/4 time. Couldn’t see him out there. Panicked. Is he ok?!

VFL report Rd 15

Josh Gibcus (four disposals, two marks, one tackle)
“Great to see him get through, he’s a much-loved figure at our football club, he showed some of his strengths in the aerial contests and looked really safe when he was around the ball.”

Slowly slowly for Josh. Get him through the rest of the season in the VFL so he feels like he doesnt have to think about his body every time the ball gets near.

Must be mentally challenging getting back to playing.

He still looks really rusty.

Went off at the 10 min mark of the 3rd and stayed off. Looked lively and bouncy and a little rusty. Took a couple of nice grabs. Should be nearly a full game in the VFL after their bye this week.

We just need to bring Josh on slowly after what is effectively a two year lay-off (only half a game in 2024) so he needs to get body and mind conditioned to footy again. It is not as if we need him in the firsts this late in the season so let him work on his game at VFL level. The same goes with Smillie

I wouldn't be opposed to Josh , Smillie , McAuliffe or Armstrong saddling up in the last AFL provided bodies are right and form deserves a crack

While the VFL is ok as a breeding ground , the pace and intensity of AFL sorts so many out , its that old chestnut , get the games into the kids

Don't worry about Gibcus this year. He just needs to get through unscathed.

He's clearly playing and moving very hesitantly, he looks older than Lynch. He just plays whatever minutes he can, and looks to round 1 next year.

Good post. He's coming from a long way back after two major injuries n the same leg. It's a fair accomplishment already just to have gotten back to football at all this year.
