McKenzie has been placed on the LTIL as well today and I'm not sure what the go is with Yarran so we are able to upgrade at least one other rookie.

I heard Daniel Shipthrope is getting promoted

That's some sprain. You'd be unlucky to miss a week if it was a sprain. Has to be something more serious than that.

Badly torn ligaments maybe?

Just guessin', but Id say if we were contenders, theyde be giving him a jab. But weve got the cue in the rack, so off to surgeon for Kmac?

Upgrade another a rookie? Give us a look at Cholly. He maybe greener than August phlegm, but it'd give us something to get excited about.

With McKenzie and McIntosh on the LTIL, Short stays elevated and we can promote another - Marcon?
You would think he is the obvious choice. Seems to consistently be amongst the best couple in the twos (for whatever it's worth, given the twos are traveling about as well as the ones). So be interesting to see how he goes at the next level. Hopefully Lambert markII when he was initially upgraded.

I know everyone gets excited at his outside running ability but his disposal is not elite so I would love to see him come back and be given a go as a big bodied inside mid.
I know we have Midget Miles, Midget Cotch (gun), midget Edwards (nice for cameos) and midget Conca (how do you spell turnover) on his way back in the twos but just would love to see this big agro West Australian be thrown in the middle for some chunky punky size at the contest and see what happens. He's got big brass kahoonas but they are wasted swinging on the wing when his outside disposal is not elite. Bit of Tucky Mach 2.... and then Vlaustuin, who is also not huge, can play cameo middle spots and allow Dusty to play more forward.

Agree with most of what you say, except not about Dusty. He is now killing it in the midfield. Might win the Brownlow!

He is our only big-bodied, skilful mid at present. Why on earth would you take him out and make him play forward more, apart from occasional rest down there?

But McIntosh could turn into our version of Kripps.

No chance K-mac is gonna be as good as Cripps.
Very little chance Dusty is gonna win the brownlow.
Dusty is a very very good sweeper mid but absolute dynamite as fwd/mid.
We are a finals team with Dusty as a mid.
But if our mids are big enough and strong enough to compete with the best without Dusty and he becomes our finisher alongside Jack and friends then that is when you become a finals winning fwd line.

Same with Deledio and why I ripped everyone for years when he played as a mid at the contest. Both Lids and Dusty are above average mids but waaaaaaayyyyy above average fwds (or in Lids case, HB, wing, HF). So, you can replace them in the mids with a slight downgrade (e.g. K-Mac and Miles) but you still have the monster advantage in the fwd line that results in significantly higher scoring percentage on inside 50''s. Net value to the team is way higher.

I fancy KMac to usurp Batch as third tall in defence.

Normally love what you have to say Juff, but can't agree on Dusty. Mid, mid, mid.

Dusty has been a lot more useful for us in the last few games when he's played almost exclusively midfield. Before that he was playing a lot of time forward. It's a complete waste of a massive talent. Typically the best midfielders are also amazing forwards but you put them where they will be most damaging more of the time and that's midfield. Guys like Deledio, approaching their twilight years, moving them more predominantly into a forward role is logical .
