As I have said for a couple of years now I would like to see him developed as an inside mid because his outside kicking is just not good enough for that run and carry role.
We are desperate for a big-bodied mid and is explosive pace could be a wild card in that role.
They tried him at HBF for a few games and his marking was OK but again his kicking can not be trusted.
Another option to consider is instead of playing 3 talls in the fwd line play a Griff, Riewoldt and a guy like K-Mac as a third tall (Goldsack style). He can hold his own in the air but run and pressure gets a massive boost from the 3rd tall position. Not sure if his set kicking for goal is better than his field kicking but would be interesting to see if he can create an interesting mismatch in a slightly shorter fwd line.
I think he is a straight ahead player Juffa who's major strength is his ability to run all day. Ideally suited for a wing or half back rather than the forward who has to change direction a lot. Just my view

In a recent interview online he said he wants to eventually be a KPP. I'm assuming as a CHB.
I can't see it myself but he's a bit of an odd unit.
Rancey says hello on both points ToO ;)

agree. he keeps he feet one-on-one but i havent seen anything to suggest he can play in close.
i actually like him at HB. he runs and he attacks but he also has some strength and height so, with some more experience, he can match taller half forwards, and help cover opposition tall forwards.

K-Mac is one of the most "interesting" players on our list for me entering 2017.

We have already seen that his power and endurance is AFL elite and combined with his height and marking ability make him an awful matchup for the opposition. However, his field kicking and decision making were below average for an outside mid.

Assuming he gets his fitness back, have those 2 weak areas improved, if so, he is a huge "in" on the wing.
However, he would also potentially become an enormously important back flanker as well as we have several back flank options (Houli, B.Ellis, C. Ellis, Yarran, Short) who are not strong and tough back there rather more outside sweepers.

Furthermore, his goal kicking is good but if his field kicking into 50 improved he could be an option for Deledio's role up forward and essentially be a 3rd tall assuming we only play 2 talls in the fwd line making us more mobile. Remember if we play 3 talls in fwd line + Sam Lloyd we are really slow and arguably one of the worst teams then in defensive pressure up forward. Rioli and Edwards (assuming his fitness is back) won't save that mess.

Finally, if his kicking and decision making hasn't improved, do we then just move him inside into Grigg's role and give Cotch & Prestia a really big physical beast in there (potentially along with Nankervis) as his contested numbers are pretty good but is his handballing in tight good enough?

Really not sure where he goes but if he does get fit and improve his kicking and decision making then he has a skill set and body that has big ripple effects in the area of the ground he plays.

First of all Juffa I love reading your player reviews so keep them coming this off season.

I thought dash Kam showed a bit with his interceptions and spoiling in defence at the start of the season. He showed everything that Batch has showed. I would be trialling him as an inside mid and have him training with mids. If it looks like that is not a viable option. Backline for mine. I have him pegged as a first 18 player.

Still think his best spot is on the wing. I wasn't over-impressed when he played backline, it highlighted his weaknesses more. He is a beast size-wise, quick and has a big tank. Matching him on the wing is difficult for opponents.

Macintosh is a gun. He can play off half back and wing and is always damaging. We really missed him when he got injured last year. I'd back him in before Astbury

He is the big bodies mid we keep calling out for. Don't worry about Barlow just use Kmdyn.

reckon quickly roosting the ball forward is coming back into fashion a bit, K-mac is the *smile* at that.

He's one of the best in the team at spotting up a leading forward inside 50 top.

Iove him. One of my favourites when up and about. Could be an Issac smith type.

Yep Wing or Inside for me, needs to keep himself on park, he has been injured for 3 of the 4 years he's been on our list??

I'd take an Isac Smith type, however reckon McIntosh is a hell of a lot tougher in the contest then Smith.

Definitely. He's also 4cm taller and 10kilos heavier. Smith is a d@mn good player though, if McIntosh can get to anywhere that level in his career then I'll be very happy.

i reckon his best position for us in HBF. he gives us a 190cm+ running player which is something he otherwise lack. with some work on his defensive ability he can play on the marking HFs.
i doubt his ability to play inside cos he doesnt have clean hands. his is fine in space cos he can keep the ball in front but when in tight his fumbles will be stolen.

Mcintosh would be one of worse kicks of footy I've seen. No high expectations from me just another ordinary selection
