Dean Polo 2.0

Similarities are there, Elmer.

Outside negative mid who will push hard the other way. A bit scratchy.

Kmac is a vastly superior athlete and specimen. 10kg heavier than Polo and IMO miles smarter.

It's not a big deal to be better than Polo but Kmac has that much in his favour.

Don't undersell him Leysy. Not a star but a crucial cog to our midfield rotations. Can run all day and knows where the goals are.

Sorry mate, wasn't underselling Kmac, more the ability of our coach to play him there.

Huge question marks still on this bloke. Brave, good size, runs all day. But and it is a huge but lacks hurt with his ball use.

Big year.

Our key issue. We have ball magnets - 23-24-25+ touches week in week out - Cotch, Miles, Grigg, Houli, but they just dont "hurt" the opposition. Martin too wastes a lot of the ball, but every now and then does something incredible that you forget his last 3-4 touches (kicks in particular) where poor. That group alone your talking 125 disposals ( 1/3 of the team possessions) that dont influence games as much as other elite ball magnets. Will Caddy and Prestia change that or will they be another 55 possessions that by enlarge are ineffective ? Wait and see.

players who don't hurt with ball in hand or haven't been allowed to take risks (except for Dusty)?

FWIW I think this will change this year

Is the issue those guys cant kick or that we simply aren't structured up in the forward half correctly to give them options in damaging positions.

game plan for sure limits this.. I just think Round 1 - 8 least year, the Adelaide home game at Ettihad being the worst - they group just lost all faith in whatever they where trying to implement in 2016. The backward handballs, chaos passing to the wrong player under enormous pressure was just painful to watch. When we (the loyal tiger faithful) started to applaud kicks, you just knew this was a game plan that was not going to work. Any 2016 game plays just need to be burnt done away with..... Yes we had lost 3 consecutive finals '14 '15, '16 but it was a (by enlarge) a joy to watch Richmond in the home and away season. A team that was something like 30 wins from 42 games (or something like that) ....

42 home and away wins from 66 games in 2013/14/15

0 and 3 from finals >:D

I think we were good to watch in 2013 and the carlscum loss spooked us for the next few years. We took risks in 2013 and generally we haven't since. Even a few of our wins in 2016 came about when our crap gameplan wasn't working and we threw caution to the wind.

Our gameplan is ready made for someone to get 30 possessions and have no hurt factor

Yeah agree, our best football under Dimma was actually in 2012 and 2013.

In fact 2012 is the highest scoring season under his reign and we had a % of 111.

Our potency then dropped noticeably in 2014 and 2015 even though we won more games. As you say Sin he was spooked by the Elim final, but leysy thinks that overly defensive mindset was probably already starting to set in by then.

Certainly his negative comments after our exhilarating win over St Kilda confirm the style he wanted.

According to an article on the club's website he is training with the midfield group not the defenders

Yep. That's a good move too IMO. There's an interview with him on the club site . Worth a watch. Decent kid with his head screwed on. Important B grade player for us. We need more like him.

Maybe KMac is training with the midfield group so Prestia can do his apprenticeship in defence.

So he has forgot how to kick, read the flight of the ball in the air and exactly where to run on the ground but is apparently going to be one of our midfield rotations........

saw Kmac in richmond having lunch last week.

He has developed into a magnificent physical specimen of a man.

Massive massive shoulders
