It’s obvious that the head is sacrosanct unless that head belongs to a Richmond player. Vlastuin 2 games in a row now Kmac.

It was an accident but he was still hit in the head. Yet somehow the free kick is against us??? And our bloke misses at least one game after almost being taken off on a stretcher!

*smile* unbelievable.

That's why it should have been a report. No accident IMO.

Totally accidental imo. KMac was desperate but he did dive leading with his head and initiated the contact. Nothing Rampe could do at all.

Thank heavens he was ok. Bloody brilliant work by Rampe to call the medicos & stay with him until help arrived.
Yep, Rampe's conduct was the best thing I saw all day. Decent bloke. Called for help, stayed there until medical help arrived and then even after it arrived until.he went off. Was.the first to.check he was ok when he came to. Utmost respect for Rampe, what a great bloke and a great skipper for the swans

Not imo watching in normal motion. Kmac's head dropped very quickly at decent speed.
My point is don't these flogs go through the formality of reporting or citing a player who concusses another?

In this case, it was despicable to even pay a free against Dash Kam.

12 days makes it finish on Thursday as 2 weeks is 14 days by Saturday.
Pretty sure Steven May was only out for ten days after his concussion in a practice match. Apparently only mildly concussed n passed all the medical requirements.

Watching slo mo replay of incident Rampe turns side on bumping Kmac to the head
Flog Gary Lyon immediately says nothing in it all legit...typical
Rampe should be reported as bump connected with Kmacs head leaving him concussed

Yep. He could've avoided the head and 'tried' to tackle.

Thought Rampe turned side-on to avoid illegal front-on contact. Reckon our blokes would've remonstrated if they saw anything suspect about it, even on such a lacklustre day. KMac's kamikaze attack on the ball in a no-win situation is to be commended.

It is un smiling believable. I'm still ropeable about it. Incompetence and bias. The commentators said nothing about it. They did the usual 'brave play hope he's ok' etc as he was leaving the ground. Then Kamdyn exits, play starts and one of them says swans have the free, then silence. You could hear them all thinking WTF? But all to hard to grapple with, so they didn't. They just moved on as play continued, no discussion. Amazing. Play on would have been acceptable, but free to them? seriously?

According to the rules, if you impact another player's head you are to be cited and appear before the tribunal. Same applies to both incidents where Vlastuin got hit in the head - the Dangerfield incident and the one in the Carlton game.

In this case I reckon Rampe would probably be ok, it was quick, McIntosh bent over to get the ball. In the case with Dangerfield he led with his elbow (at the very least) and should have been rubbed out (there's an Adelaide player with concussion as a result of the non-decision on that one).

But, the salient point is, the head is hit, the player gets reported and the tribunal decides if there is an infringement and a penalty. The rules are crystal clear on this.

Clearly it is too much to ask the AFL to follow the rules they themselves wrote.

Well said DS. Where's the formality they should follow? These flogs just had a field day staring at the Swans arses yesterday. We, Richmond, even pay fines for the softest of citings or reportings.
