The Richmond supporter base is irrelevant for a Geelong home game.
If they earn more money with a home game at SS, why should they give it up to cater for opposition supporters?

Fair call interested.

Waiting for the day when Richmond plays ALL its home games at the G.

Kardinia Park?
I was disgusted at being stamped with a Geelong emblem as a pass out!
I took my frustration to another limit & hit those SHELL signs harder than ever before.
Its a pity the Cats Flag we found after the game was burnt, like a protest in the Balkan region.

not a very convincing argument. if this was the case, if geelong earnt the right to host a home final, why isn't it held at SS?

So why don't Scumwood or Essendon ever play them there?

Bombers might be a chance to play there next year.

Don't bet on it '64 Mercedes Benz

The media and AFL all have a sizeable love in with Whingy Hill and Sheedys spin doctoring.
For as long as Hird and Louganis are there, expect the red carpet to be laid out for them by the powers that be.
Laughed to see already thier crowds are falling away to less than 30k now the bandwagons wheels are jammed up.

heh heh heh.  How many do yous reckon would have turned up if sat's game was at the G?  You'd think 50K odd?

I went along at only $46.50 a ticket and sat in row 'D' right behind the Southern end goals.

I was with 4 mates (none of them Tigers supporters, but sympathisers nonetheless) in a sea of Cats supporters with only one or two other Tigers supporters. I reckon the Cats supporters were ok, no hassles. One bloke had a shot a me for bagging Mooney for being such a 'great' player - not!

Not like the last game in 2005 where I stood at the Melbourne end of Kardinia Park where the Cat supporters were ready and willing to give it to any one with any trace of yellow and black on them!

Drove down from Albury & got there early enough to get 2 seats just in frt of the standing room section.Great day & no better feeling than going to someone's home groung & walking away with the pt's.Also let the locals know about it at their pub's & clubs all night long.Great trip in all!

Cos AFL makes nothing then.

Thats why we have a final 8 because it increases amount of finals along with coverage which all adds up to $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for the AFL.
The AFL knows the final 8 is a sham but they stick with it cios it is a money spinner, hence there will never be a final at SS.

Sat in the Doug Wade stand ,was with a bunch of the players an Family members of players was hassle free day to be honest I find the Cats a very placid bunch.Cant get over how many old ladys(no offence to the elderly)there is at the cattery Knitting :sleeping

Sounds like the majority of the problems that we had were in the GA Standing room section. All day the ferral cats were swearing and being quite hostile. I was with two women who were discusted with the language.

In the last qtr after it was obvious that we had won the game, one or two ferrals started fighting with our grog squad. This went on for about 5 minutes with no sign of security. At least we won that game (fight) also.

The AFL should crack down on these sort of country bumpkin grounds with less than 45,000 capacity and make them play at the good grounds.

No offense meant to real country footy grounds and clubs but for the AFL to allow the handbaggers to play games at that smallville ground is a disgrace.

i disagree. i think there is a place for geelong. and princess park in the AFL. but mainly against the interstate teams... and possibly lower drawing victorian clubs.
