Keep, Trade, Delist: Poll No.? - Richo

People thinking richo should be traded at age 32 :-X

Seriously?

The kids look up to Richo as a legend (yeah even those from north adelaide) and he add so much more than just his onfield displays.

you also trade delist players according to list needs whilst taking into account where your list is at. whilst we are in full on rebuild mode all players are tradeable if it will improve our list. an example of this is leon cameron came to us at what 28 29 yrs of age the doggies got 2 draft picks hargreaves and hahn who came out of that one in front long term.you really shouldnt let sentiment get in the way of what needs to be done.

You know full fell the opportunity for these trades has passed. If we were going to do it we should have traded Joel or Richo in 04. Why keep torturing yourself?

As an aside, have you considered how you would feel if we traded Richo for picks and had got someone like Meeson?
i would be pissed not with the fact we traded that is the right thing to do imo. but with those for getting it wrong. just because you get a early pick wrong do you stop useing early picks. you identify the problem and fix it and continue to utilise early picks.

as for richo not being worth a first round pick well i point blank disagree. for a side like sydney or the bulldogs their thinking would be he could get them a premiership. look at the carey deal to adelaide 32 yo for picks 2 and 18 and that after carey missed a yr thru disgrace. at the very least i would be finding out what we could get.

Look I have an unhealthy man love for Richo but his trade value is not high. He is 32, very difficult to play with in the forward line and impossible to read as a crumber. He has killed the career of more than one Richmond forward, only someone with the sheer class of Brown can play with him successfully. AFL clubs know all this and won't give up a lot for him.

But he has a lot of value for our club as a symbol of hope and excitement for the fans in bad times. He is a true Tiger, let him play out his last year or two with dignity and lets enjoy him for the flawed genius that he is, not trade him for pick 25 in a bad draft.

How many Richos have there been in the past decade? Buddy is cast from the same mould, but who else?

A breeding program is our best chance of getting another. Send him to the US to hook him up with Lauren Jackson.

Give her a footy and see if she can kick straight first.
