I think will get a better idea of Tucky's value at the B an F,definate keeper, some would think he turns over every kick, hopefully with a fit Cogs,Axe,AC,Cotchin,Raines ;D,Jacko an Connors we will form a very hard midfield unit

He's a keep for me too - as much as I will accept his set shot kicking is ordinary, on the run he is OK - does blaze out of the centre a bit a but you also have to consider who is working around him - often he has to get it off quick as he doesn't have blistering pace. So as he is a great workhorse desperate for some quality around him, I'd keep because he also protects our guys well - one of the few that does put his body in and fly the flag. He is a must keep with so much developing youth around him. That might change in 2-3 seasons if his skill don't improve, but his own development might correct that yet.

Keep for mine, iffy disposal offset by being one of only two hard ball extractors and clearance players we have.

Tuck a ducks o.k. We need a big hard midfield *smile* truck that can kick a goal and steal the odd ruck hit out.
Keep.

Hard at it player with plenty of guts, but the when it comes to the skills department there's not much there. That's why most of our players in the past have been and that's why we have won wooden spoons or have been the cellar dwellers of the competition.

We wouldn't miss him.

Spot on, about time we lifted our skill level

Hard at it ordinary players have been the secret to our outstanding success for the last quarter of a century...

We were last in clearances this year (5 of the top 6 sides filled the top 5 spots) and Tuck contributed more than 1 in 7 (top 10 in the league) of what we did manage to get. Unless Coughlan is back at his best and some of our young players will start to contribute a few more then I'm pretty sure we'll miss him.

Also, while he had some bad games with his disposal during the year, overall he had about the same error to disposal ratio as guys like Kirk, Lewis Black, Mitchell, Jude Bolton and Chad Cornes. Kicked 12 goals (4 less than Cornes and more than the rest of those players) too which is not bad for a guy who's main role is winning the hard ball.

Still, he would demand a decent pick. Maybe we should trade both he and Pettifer and consign ourselves to another couple of bottom 4 finishes and do a full blown rebuild.

I have never previously been a fan of Shane Tuck's work. Not until this year.

His work at the stoppages has improved 100%. His close in handball is now good to very good. And he can play tight now. That was a real weakness in his game but he's worked on it.

His approach at the stoppages has changed. He used to just stand off it and roll the dice but this year he's been starting closer and winning the ball in close. This is what real inside mids do. And he's learned to clear a path for the smalls, I mean the small (Foley) and set him to space. He's finally learned to use his body.

His kicking, which granted is not outstanding at its best, has been hampered badly by injury this year. But as has been noted by the learned MK he can slot a goal for ya.

He was shopped heavily last year and despite crippling injury has responded with verve. I admire the way he's handled himself this season.

At least a #4 mid in the making. Maybe better. For a comparison look at Fosdike of Sydney. He'd be a Premiership change mid and he has given them a huge spark in big games. IF Tuck can get his body right (likely IMO) he can be at least that good.

Who else have we got? Johnson? Coughlan? Tuck is a keeper IMO. I'm a fan.

lazy man and slow

That's not a nice thing to post about me after I've just defended Tuck, bunnerz. Could I work any harder? Or type any faster? ;D

I like Tucky but I voted trade. Hopefully he has some currency (but I doubt many Tiger players do) and we can obtain something that we lack (KPP Backs, ruck) and we have many on the list who could play middle instead: Coughlan, Raines, Foley, Jackson, Johnson and the emerging Connors ( and possibly someone from the draft)

we need more skilled versions of tucky. im going to cut him some slack this yr apparently he has struggled with injury. short term he is needed long term replace. if we were to trade him we would need to target a ready to go inside mid.

I've liked the way Tucky has gone about the grunt work this year. Disposal has killed him at times this year but I've really admired the way he and foley have worked together in the later part of this year. Ofcourse he could be shopped around and it would be amiss of the tiges not to do it. But I certainly hope he stays - I think he still has plenty to offer the tiges.
