I know this will bring an uproar, but Tivendale is a much better option in this role than Howat IMHO. I was a big supporter of Howat last year, but just did not go on with it as expected this year and to get dropped yesterday was not a good sign, especially when he didn't do much at Coburg by all accounts. He should have followed Connors lead.
I agree, but at 29 even Tivendale can't cement his spot in the side and only has the odd stand out game. Wouldn't surprise me to see both gone at the end of the year.

Tivendale wont be going at the end of the year unless a reasonable trade is found. He's had a very good year this year, his best ever possession-wise, and has cut out alot of those bad kicks we saw last year by generally kicking alot longer. Has also managed to bag a few more goals this year, which is a very important attribute for an outside midfielder.

How many do we need to delist in what is said to be a weak draft?
Gaspar, Knobel, Kingsley, Hall, Meyer, Krakouer and Hartigan gives us seven before you even start thinking about Jackson, Moore, P-Bo and Hyde. (Howat gone, King upgraded).

Man - what the # does everyone have against Howat!
Jackson is borderline very good of late.

Certainly don't think Howat will get elevated at the end of the year. Can't cement his spot in the side and we have numerous kids coming through who can play as an unaccountable outside midfielder.

Howat hits targets.

No he doesn't. Better options available.

He's a senior player, will be 29-30 years old next year and won't be around when we have success in a few years. He still cannot cement his spot in the worst performing side in the competition, goes missing far too often. Wallace said that when a young player can offer the same that a senior player can then the younger player will get the spot, going into next year we will have numerous players putting their hand up for that spot. Even Howat can offer similar output to Tivendale and he's a rookie who many including myself don't think deserves a spot on the list. Don't get me wrong, I think Tiva has been unfairly critisised in the past and is just a scapegoat most of the time, but players need to be cut and Tivendale will most likely get the Kellaway treatment at the end of the year. We've tried to shop him around for a trade for years and no one has bitten, I'm sure we'll try again but if no ones interested then he'll probably just get cut, better him than a youngster.

Howat can hit targets regularly, but he doesn't get enough of the ball and his direct opponent gets too much of it

Tivendale has only missed 3 matches this year, one through injury, one for family reasons, leaving one potentially dropped after getting 23 and 25 possessions the two weeks before (therefore questioning why he was dropped). I would hardly call that not being able to cement his spot. Howat, although I am still non-committed as to his future - still being quite young, has not performed anywhere near that of Tivendale this year. This is close to Tivendale's best year at the Tigers, and unless a quality trade can be found, I just can't see him being cut for nothing. I understand where you are coming from, he will be 29 next year, and a potential spot for another young player, but that is prime age for a footballer in terms of body and experience, and has at least another couple of years left in him.

Anyhow, wont be too long before we know. My prediction is Tivvs stays unless a very good trade comes up.

I have seen him hit good options time and time again this season. He is no magician, but he is quite safe. Compared to some of the senior players he is positivley great at getting the ball to a teamate in good position. If there is a knock on him it's the defensive side of his game.

I think he's worth keeping had my doubts about his but he has shown enough in the last couple of games and i think he is just starting to come on. He will benefit with another pre season in the gym

Good depth player, you need a couple of those, but we have a few, it will come down to players in his position.

It might come down to a decision between someone like House, Hydey or Moore. If that's the case I'd be inclined to stick with Moore for another year. I reckon Terry's played him the last two weeks to have one last look at him and he's played pretty well. Also depends on whether you want to keep Gus on the list or put him back as a rookie. He might just be saved by the fact that this year's an average draft we're not likely to have more than four picks. Might even be three picks with one PSD selection and maximum rookies. I say he's getting one more year.

Sorry, but he's got to go. He's not a kid anymore, 2 good games doesn't make a season I'm afraid.

Think I read the same comment this time last year.

Whilst I don't rate him much at all he tried hard yeasterday and did a reasonable job.
Polak's tappered off pretty poorly this season...Kel might stay on as insurance given Gaspar and Hall's departure.

Howat Hartigan Krakouer are the other delisted certs IMO. Tivendale or Hyde may be a surprise delisting.
Expect a trade or two.

Hyde, Moore, Hartigan, Hrak all gone thats 7. DOubt the club would delist anymore if so maybe Howat, Tiva is still better than him. Also P.Bo will be praying and begging to stay. If he is not chopped he should thank the heavens above!!!!!!

Think you will find Howat will remain.
