Kerr, Cousins or Brown...

Leysy Days said:
agreed, brown & kerr would add nothing to our team.

You have to consider what the team misses out on by getting one of these two.

Last year people would have traded Trent Cotchin, Alex Rance and Jordan McMahon (pick 19) all for Judd.

Instead we'll have Jordy running around for longer than Judd, and Cotchin + Rance should be around for 15+ years each. That's a combined 35-40 years of service that we would have thrown away for 6 years of Judd, who btw is taking his sweet time to get back to his best.

Cotchin alone is far better value to our club than Judd, and that was with Judd coming at a "low" price.

Kerr would be the pick of the bunch, but can't see him leaving the Eagles.

When does Pavlich come out of contract? I reckon playing for Freo would be way more frustrating than playing for the Tiges...

Where ya bin Lee?

hey willo - how you been? I have been very busy with this change of Government - it has meant lots of trips to Canberra and lots of long days at work. I hope the worst is behind me now - although back to Canberra (grrrrrrr) again in June - that should be it for a little while.

Gosh I have missed this site and the goings on. Hope your well Willo!!

Hey Lee, your'e not one of those lazy pubic servants that Uncle Kevvy 07 says is not working hard enough are you?
He's gunna be seriously pissed if he finds it was you leaking his top secret pretend to be busy while shafting the punters documents. :o :o

Some weeks ago Dyer suggested Cousins will only be allowed to enter the National Draft, not the Pre Season as I had hoped. Then there was some talk from Cousins that He might want to enter a Draft without playing in a minor league first but Andrew apparently did not like that idea. Any one any idea where this is at.

I would only support us going after Cousins and only then if he was available in the PSD.

Much better for us to focus on our list and upgrading our draft picks.

From what we have seen so far I think there may be no room next year for Casserly Hughes Johnson and Tivendale. Of this group maybe Hughes only might get us an up graded pick.

Others who may be moved on include Bowden Hyde Newman Pettifer Raines and possibly Simmonds in the unlikely event that Warnock shows he is ready and we get him early enough in the trade period.

Based on our present ladder position we might start with picks 6, 24, 40, 56 and 72.

Maybe Bowden and pick 40 to the Bulldogs for pick 14/15.
Hughes and pick 56 to Port Ad for a third rounder say pick 42
Hyde and pick 42 for Warnock.
Pettifer and Simmonds to Hawthorn for Pick 14/15 and Tuck
Picks 14, 15 and Newman to Melbourne for Pick 1
Off Bowden Casserly Hughes Hyde Johnson Newman Pettifer Simmonds and Tivendale (8 players 1 vet)
On Collard Warnoch Tuck & Draft Picks 1, 6, 24, 72 plus BC in the PSD ;D

Not me TigerMasochist - I am working my butt off for uncle Kev 07. hehehehe - if he didnt have things to hide he wouldnt need to worry and no, it is not me leaking his *smile* poor policies - they are seriously not worth leaking! :rofl

Brown- As much as I'd love him, no for me. Would cost too much plus he isnt going anywhere he loves Brisbane.

Kerr- At the right price, a big yes. With our midfield coming together he'd be icing on the cake. Imagine a midfield of Cotchin, Kerr, Foley, Tambling, Deledio for the next 10 years.

Cousins- If his head is right, yes for me.

But I want Warnock and Prismall too.

How about just draft our own Kids.

big JB without any shadow of a doubt.
i doubt very much if his body is shot, what did he kick tonight,6?

he`s got at least 5 years in him,has a heart as big as the MCG,attitude is second to none and is the most natural leader you will find in the game.
he`d be worth every cent, you have to pay someone the big bucks and he would be as good or better than anyone in the game to give it to.
at least he`d earn it through blood, sweat and tears if nothing else.

i wouldn`t go near cousins wth a ten foot pole,he`s a 31 year old ex(maybe) coke head with bad hamstrings.
no thanks.

kerr would be good but he has a bad attitude and our forward line is screaming for key forwards.

big browny all the way for me.

Kerr won't leave West Coast
Cousins is too old and damaged in too many ways
Brown won't help us as his body is realistically able to stay together another 3 years tops ( being optomistic) and what we would have to give away in the trade would only set us back more than three years.

The trades don't stack up so develop our own is the only safe bet.

Surely you'd have to go with Brown. Our midfield is coming together nicely thanks very much. But our forwards... We always seem to be seeking someone better. TW's current efforts to make Polak and Bowden work there, prove the point. Browny could be the key forward and strong leader that takes us to a premiership in under 5 years!

think kerr and foley would be sensational together brown at chf and with development in our kids we would play finals would still lack depth though.

personally i would go hard for kerr. i would be then focusing on finding long term solutions for chb fb with some quick tough hard smaller backs.
personally i would like to see thursfield become our third tall down back. hes the one who leaves his man to be third man up.personally i think our back half to short to small to unaccountable and with no mongrel. thursfield aside it is one area i would look to totally revamp. with a bit of luck rance may be one piece of the puzzle.

kerr foley deledio cotchin with foot soldiers in connors and collins developing as well. throw in in time white tambling edwards and you have some decent rotations on ball midfield.

up forward we are screaming out for a chf and a ff and a chapman type rover.

If we were able to get Hurley in the draft we would be close to a decent back six. By all reports Hurley is a good body player and may be equipped to take the bigger types.

Rance, Hurley and Thursfield could well develop into quality key back. I know it is farly speculative but Rance could take CHB, Hurley FB and Thursfield the third tall.
I would agree that Thursty is best suited to the third tall position. Perhaps a better way to put it would be that if Thursty was consistently playing third tall if would probably mean we have good key backs. Something all premiership sides have.

What would you be prepared to offer to get him Claw? Which picks or players would perhaps get the deal doe.
Given some on here reckon a lot of our players are"duds", what makes people think other clubs would be falling over themselves to take them and give up their own "gun"?
We'd need to give up early picks to satisfy them.
Personally I want to keep all our early picks for the ND.

So advocating getting Kerr, what price would you pay to get him then Claw?

With what? Early draft picks? Because you know nothing else will fly.

With the way we played today we need to go after cousins, put his past in the past and just get him works hard all the time unlike most of our team and he wont cost us a draft pick

agree - he would be a good asset in the midfield - without costing us a high draft selection!!
