Re: hands in the back
I loathe the rule. See the thread as well about KB.
The BS free kicks when the player is not impeded in going for the mark is wrong & contradicts the spirit in which the game was meant to be played. It was quite interesting a few people around me & other I have spoken to that when you have a marking contest in the forwardline, its no longer waiting to see who will mark the ball but rather who will infringe & have a free kick awarded against them. The rule is taking over the game & I don't blame the umpires for enforcing it & in actual fact I hope they go nuts awarding ever little infrindgement to the point it is ridiculous.
As KB said he had 12 letters supporting it, and well over 600 against it ! Yeah its a great rule NOT being brought into our game by Anderson, Demtriou & media puppet Geischen. It is forcing our game to become a no contact sport & towards ruin.
With those agreeing the rule is great, I totally disagree with you all and no matter what justification is put forward to support the rule, no-one will convince me that a brush of a hand on the back or touch that sometimes even the player who has been infringed hasn't felt, is a free kick. If a player is impeded then award the free kick. If he is not then no free kick. Many soft free kicks have been awarded like that as well. Just crap !
And if people think this rule will be scrapped, think again. What better way for Demetriou & Co to flex their egos & dictatorship by forcing everyone to accept this against their will.
They need to realise its not about them & their crap egos, its about the game & this rule intrepretation is wrong!
