i guess the only positive you can take out of the season is that hird is now finally gone... they guys as old as archer and buckley and played half as many games cos he's always sitting on the pine injured... you dont win games on the pine... played *smile* house all year long, just riding the coat tails of who he use to be...

Not sure of the details on Knighters time at Port Adelaide but I recall hearing a radio discussion at the time that Port had been struggling for a bit and Knighter was appointed when the previous coach got frog marched. I think they said that the list was full of long term mediocre players and Knighter did some serious broom work. This rattled a few cages and struggled to overcome some serious white anting.
Maybe someone with a handle on S.A. footy has better knowledge of what went on, I may be way off track but I'm sure I heard something along those lines.

Doesn't matter any way. Mega Congratulations to Knighter, a Tiger Champion who now has a senior AFL coaching gig.
