i was watching a replay of the 2005 richmond wc match and it was an eye opener to see how good our midfield performed when knoble was in the ruck. simmonds was good around the ground but our midfield was so much better when knoble gave them first use of the ball. something that has been sorely missing this year.
we came within 1 point of of matching it with one of the grand finalists of that year so knobles importence to the side seems to be greatly understated. i know that his work around the ground is average but that centre clearence advantage he gives us is very important.
i think the stats in 2005 showed that knoble led the competition in hitouts to advantage. ( someone who has access to those might like to conform this )
