Hasn't been anywhere near the same player since his knee injury.
He was awesome before that and became the modern prototype for an AFL utility.
Used to love those trademark one handed pickups at full pace without breaking stride.
He played in a flag and was at one stage the brownlow favorite. He was a one club player and the first of the "athletes" to impact on the game. He injured his knee in the final against us in 2001, from there on he was never anything like he was before that.
He gave it up probably 2 years too late, although he deserves a good send off after a good career.

It is incumbent on the Carlton players to honour the career of a Carlton legend by beating their most fierce rivals this weekend. Anything less than this is kicking dust in the face of a respected teammate.
I believe Kouta was largely responsible for a total shift in the "typical" player recruiters were looking for from mid 90's onwards. Following his success they all wanted 6'4" running on ballers - meant that Greg Williams types basically got overlooked regardless of how much of the footy they got. Good luck to him, has been a very good player.
