I posted recently that I thought maybe Greg was positioning the Club to trade these two players. As I understand it Andrew still has two years to run on a contract worth $250,000 plus pa while the Fev has recently signed with the Blues at $450,000 pa for three years?
Putting to one side the fact that both contracts appear to over value the contribution of each player,it might be argued that the difference in the annual salaries can be justified for reasons connected to positisions played and the 'potential' of each. Not so sure but if Carlton were to agree to pay half of Fev's third year salary, then maybe it can be seen that from a purely financial cost benefit, that a straight swap is justified.
For other reasons however such a deal i.e. a straight swap, would imo massively favour the Blues. Primarily such a deal wouldn't account for the fact that Carlton are desperate to be rid of Fev for exactly the same reasons that he represents a massive risk to us... He is undisciplined, a loud mouth and totally unproffessional at a time when on and off field lapses have never been subjected to greater scrutiny. He makes the relatively innocent escapades of Schulz and sorry forget the name of our former defender who was in such massive trouble for driving dui...(he makes such behavior), look Bowdenesq, if you get my meaning.
So Greg if thats to be the deal thanks but no thanks..We would want a much better deal before the idea of taking on Fev, even looked moderately attractive.
