Krak/ Pett!

Hopefully Jackson's poor to average game yesterday  was a result of him being played out of position.

Matera was obviously too slick yesterday but Daniel did some good things too. We shouldn't forget he's a kid who's only played a handfull of games. Maybe with experience he might hold onto a bit of jumper. He cleared the ball out of the 50 3 times. He took 5 marks and had 10 possessions in his limited game time. He shouldn't just be judged on a couple of opposition goals kicked on him.

Did any of you criticising ... Petts actually go to the game? I sat down the city end in the first quarter watching all the forwards freezing their balls off, running around in circles trying to keep warm because there was NO delivery from the midfield.

I was at the game linus and if there was no delivery how do you explain Kayne's direct opponent having 5 first quarter possessions, including a goal where Kayne didn't chase or put pressure on him? That's compared to 0 possessions for Kayne himself.

He also didn't chase or apply any pressure on quite a few other occasions, just followed behind at a slow jog.

Watch the replay of the first quarter and see what I mean. (I can provide approx time references for 5 examples)

I don't think it's bagging Kayne to think that lack of endevour isn't acceptable, and in fact wouldn't mention it if he wasn't being pumped up so much lately.

It's the kind of thing that can cost a grand final in the future.  Rather than read excuses that the ball didn't go anywhere near him I'd prefer Kayne to be shown a tape of that 1st quarter and learn from it.  There were chances there to do far more.

Until he stops doing that some of you people need to pull your heads in.

That's not very friendly WT. :)

I just think some people should bloody pull their heads in themselves. This is a discussion board not a love in. If people have views and quite rightly so on some occassions that players might not of given 100% then that deserves to be looked at and discussed.

Krak should take Pettifer out and give him some tackling lessons. Some of his tackling attempts were very ordinary with at least one resulting in a goal. >:(

Simple needs to improve the defensive side of his game, all well and good to kick goals but, allowing the opposition to run off you and do the same is unforgiveable.

Stamp the foot down Tuby. ;D

Gee TF I just get a bit sick of some on here that when players are questioned that these players are not worthy of getting a bit of a spray mate. They get paid big bloody bucks to go out and do what they do. The sooner some realise that any player is not untouchable as to critism the better as they are when they do well for the club.

pets and krak were servicable yesterday. pets, krak, cambo and paris kicked a combined 7 goals yesterday. that more than covered for browny this week. but can they keep it up for the remainder of the season?

IMO, 7 goals isn't a good conversion rate from the 4 mentioned Ian, infact 10 goals would of been a better figure. I think Cambo could of contributed more on the scoreboard, and his leg speed let us down in him taking marks. It was a good game from Hilton, and well organised time on ground by TW considering his first game back after a serious injury.

Nothing wrong with disagreeing though Tubs. Some people don't think all these guys actually are Duds.

Well who are duds TGN, who are not up to it.... Gee mate i get sick of the same mistakes getting done by the same players week after week but hey lets not be critical of them....bloody hell when do we learn. I hope and i am sure come years end that these players who have done the damn thing year after year will be shown the door. Sorry but I just dont agree with sticking up for players that dont learn mate.

What is it on here lately with people constantly criticising others for their beliefs? Opinions are great because you don't have to know anything to have one. Everyone is entitled to their own without being told to pull their heads in or that they're delusional wankers.

there shouldn't be any insults but it goes both ways. it si a 2 way street. i have been called every name under the sun for having my beliefs about rory hilton and have copped it all weekend from certain posters.

My post wasn't meant to be personally addressed to you Lebo so sorry if it came across that way. :)

I agree and I included different examples in my post. I've noticed it dished out far more than usual from both sides of the fence this weekend.

if lebo had hes way, we would only have 8 players playing this week. they all shouldnt have contracts apparantly

i'll tone and down and hope other posters can do the same.

now, how do i PM again?

rory hilton...............and.......petts
name the other 12 i have bagged.

Krak was ok, made a few things happen.
Pettifer kicked a few goals and good on him, that's what he's there for, but what I'm disappointed about with Pettifer is is that his defensive game is non existent, he half heartedly tackles and chases, it just annoys me no end. And in one on one situations he gets beaten nearly every time. he gives his opponent way too much latitude. He's just lucky Brown's out for the rest of the year, because I am certain he would have been dropped after the Melbourne game.
Lift your defensive efforts Petticoat!

I'm not saying they're not duds just that different people will have different views on who the duds are! That doesn't mean you can't express your view!

I certainly don't think all our players are guns although I do wonder whether some realise that we will never have a team of guns. Plenty of premiership sides have contained a few duds!

Yeah I remember the goal you are talking about Rosy, and you are right, Pettifers tackle attempt was really lame, no way his player should have got around him then. But that tackle atempt was on the Tigers halfback line, if there was any pressure to speak of down the other end Petts wouldn't have been chasing his player all the way up the other end.

No doubt Rosy, Petts needs to work on the defensive side of his game.

I also think people need to remember his role in the team is as a medium forward, we need 30 goals a year from players like him, he is well on his way this year.
