Krakouer Magic

At least I'm not as old as I feel tim.  ;D

I can remember watching the Krak bros but can't remember just how good they must have been.  I suspect they might even have been taken for granted a bit when time now shows their relationship and ability was exceptional and hasn't been matched by 2 players since.

The book very much goes into their personalities.  Jim volatile and not willing to lay down for anyone.  Phil quieter and more tolerant and could shut off from the rubbish they copped.

it seems andrew only inherited one of jimmys football genes. the ability to go missing for large chunks of games.

That's a bit unfair Claw, I'd be putting the blame onto his mother. We males are only responsible for the positive attributes  :-X

Get over it! Andy is never goin to be a week in week out 30+ ball getter, its not his role! He will have the occassional game where he'll grab 25-30 and kick 4or5 but what Krak does with his touches is th eimportant part. He is a freak at clearing the ball and with his 10or12 touches a game he'll regualarly give you 1 goal or 3 and 7 clearances all quality posessions with a couple of clangers. I rate Krak and as soon as you all get off his back and realise he aint a ball magnet you'll see the class he can have! Why do we need another Joel on the ground gettin 35 touches 15 of em actually doing something effective!

Ever think maybe he gets a game for a reason besides having a famous name? Yes I get frustrated with him too at times but id rather have him in there at least the is the chance of something special happening!!

IM SICK OF THIS KRAK BASHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Scoop's reccomendation I'm reading "Brother Boys" by Sean Gorman.  It's the story of Phil and Jim Krakouer. (Great read for all footy fans and has some interesting history of Aboriginal culture and of the period when the VFL spread it's wings)

Anyway reading about Phil and Jim makes me sad I can't really remember seeing them play.  Just wondering if anyone has memories of them and were they as magic, skillful, dominating and elusive as the book portrays them?

Can anyone think of any modern day players who team up with similar on-field chemistry?
Without having read the book l can tell you rosy they were like no-one else.
Everything we enjoy about aboriginal footballers was on display with these 2 players
*near perfect skills
*sublime speed
*360 degree radar plus, in Jimmy, ya cant touch dis boxing skills[see Mark Harvey]
To answer your question no-one before or since. Just freaks l spose

Caught a little of them on Fox footy yesterday, just after the replay of our win against the pies last year :D

They just seemed to know where the other was without looking, great to see.

Maybe he feined the injury cos he knew he was gonna get dropped ;), ha ha oh well he can come back via Coburg anyways

Krak is Back

Apparently he knew mid week he was playing and Razor would be rested.
