if you are going to have a bad year it is better to have it in a poor draft year. some may think that it is better to have it in a good draft year but in a bad year there always seems to be at least 2 or 3 top class players. this means those teams with the top picks get to get the top shelf players. in a good draft year the quality can go as low as pick 6 or 7 meanibg a team that has just missed out on the finals can pick up a a class player

the next draft seems to be shaping up as a very deep draft so those advocating another poor year to pick up another class player or two have flawed logic.

i suppose what we have to ask ourselves is do we want to win or just get high draft picks? i for one want to win win win!!!!

Ladder position and draft picks will take care of itself. Energy must be put towards developing the younger guys and a game plan suited to the RFC......what ever that should be......perhaps someone could present their thoughts on a game plan suited to our current list and abilities.

2008 is 17 days old and your talking positioning for draft picks.

Here's an idea, just play the best we can and see how we go. Teenager draft picks alone don't make the club.

They do when they are from Fiji and can leap tall buildings and dance like MC Hammer!

hmm very hard to play one on one far to many sticks. very hard to play possesion footy just dont have the skills. very hard to play long and direct just dont have the talls. very hard to play stoppage flood footy dont have the players to win enough inside footy. sheesh what does it leave.

sheesh theres an exception to that what if you have a priority pick sheesh picks 1 and 2 or 1 and 3. jeez thats rich and one of hurley naitanui.

TO WIN is what we all want, to loose by alot is not what we want. This year I want our young boys, to try there best and see what happens, if we loose by the fact we are young ok, if we loose because of other reasons, old players injurys and bad play, thats a different story.
This Year if we do not win anymore than 4 games, we get picks 1 and 3, I think, that means-Nicholas Naitainui
and Mitch Manner or Daniel Rich, or Chris Yarran,or Michael Hurley and another in the top 20. Plus others these players to our list, will mean Richmond now has the team if only very young.

I think we should try to win, at all costs, as these players may be great but to win is better, as to fall on Lost Hope.

What does it leave? Plenty of scope for being pathologically negative apparently.
