Can't help but admire the way Roos manages his troops.

Everyone writes them off early and then they make the grand final..

Still I don't think they will this year.

Cats will be there.

And lose by 10 goals again... 92, 94, 95 revisited!

Nothing has changed for me since the start of the year - Geelong v West Coast GF. Whether the Catters can go all the way will depend on the their mindset on the day. They certainly have the cattle to stretch the Eagles in virtually all areas. But the Eagles are better prepared IMHO. Be a beauty in any event

Nah...I think there are a lot of differences this year. West Coke have real injury issues and it will hurt them in the finals.

Geelong, I think, have really been steeled by last year's failure and some pressure on each other to shape up. They didn't respond to last year by wielding the axe, but by increasing the demands on each other. If they were really flaky, they'd have dropped a game or two in the last ten weeks, not given us such an impressive winning streak. I think they are odds on for the flag.

When it comes to the team to play them, it's a very open and even field.

Hawthorn and Kangas have been really impressive, but Kangas don't have the poise to get into the GF, and I'm not convinced the Hawks have the experience. But hell, they've done so well.

Sydney are a real possibility; but so I think is Port, which has really flown under everyone's radar, and chalked up the wins. And they have a strong group of premiership players to lead the way when the going gets tough.

If Brisbane wins enough to get into the eight, that would be super impressive, and they could be the ultra smokey.

So my prediction is Geelong vs one of Sydney, Hawks and Port. It's going to be a sensational final series...

And a great VFL final series too--for us!

eighth spot will be between ad co and freo. i can see ad and freo winning all 3 remaining games and collingwood losing all of them. freo have a 5o 50 game today and a 50 50 game in the last round one slip up and they will be gone. adelaides toughest game is brisbane at aami rnd 21 48 points i think will be the cut of for the top 8 but it will only take one slip up by both ad and freo and 46 or 44 points could get you in.

looking at this what a joke the final 8 system is when barely 11 wins half the games gets you into finals the sooner we go to a final 5 the better. this is a system that rewards top teams for consistent yrs.

At least wait until we make the 8 before making it a 5.
