Laidley quits

He and Longmire must be favourites?
Don't think you could list them as favourites with the talent available, but being ex sons they will be sounded out.

Kings career at Tigerland is finished along with Royal. North will at least look at him (King) and if he doesn't land the top job he may pop up as an assistant.

North are sounding like what we did back when we appointed Wallace. They are saying that they want someone that is able to Market the club etc.. Isnt this why we went for Wallace and were reluctant on Eade????

Heh I thought that as well, c'mon Kangaroos go for Wallace.

I would have Laidley at Tigerland as a Senior Assisitant or Footy Manager anyday.

You never know Roachy!

"Already, last week, at least one Melbourne-based club had contacted his manager, Ricky Nixon, and suggested interest in Laidley for a director of coaching role".

The big difference between richmond and north is that there weren't any leaks at north.

Disagree, Laidley's impending doom has been strongly whispered in recent weeks. Furthermore, no one really cares about North. I didn't see the press conference for Laidley but I bet it had half the media there that ours had.

Agree DD, it was talked about at length on The Couch, they were referring to the "round 16' clause, that Eade, Williams and Laidley had written into their contracts. It has been no secret that this may be Laidley's last year at the Kangas....and someone must have heard a whisper for it to be discussed on The Couch halfway through round 12.

As me and Leysy were discussing yesterday, he would be perfect for such a role.

In fact I remember when we signed Wallace and Eade was available, Collingwood made a offer to Eade to fill such a role (Strategic Director of Coaching or High Performance Director, some wanky name). Eade probably would have taken it but new Tiges/Doggies were in the hunt and it paid off for him. He declined the Wobbles when Bullies came after him hard. Collingwood scrapped the position, as it was specifically with Eade in mind.

Wouldn't surprise me if the position at the Lexus Centre suddenly was open again and a new office was being painted as we speak.

Yeah as we said, think he'd be ideal if we go young. Reckon he'd love not having the press conference's, media & extra commitments that the head coach's role brings as well.

Isn't this Royal's official title?

BTW is he still at the club or did he spit the dummy when Tezza left?

So where's the list of coaches that RFC are looking at, someone should've leaked it by now! :hihi
