I liked Patrick Bowden because he is young, has the world to play for, was given a crappy one year contract which the doggies are paying part of. No downside. ;D Lappin has been a great player over the last four or five years but honestly, I would prefer to save our cash, buy rookies and go a little worse next year, rather than propping our side up with reasonable results due to fill in players who aren't the future. No disrespect to Lappin.
Hell with it play the kids and let the results fall where they may. We know the side will play hard and with commitment because TW will sack the players if they don't. We also know TW will coach the game day well but if we lose, then we lose. Next year = tough draw and big step up for a lot of fringe youngsters. It will be an up and down year. Lets all get over it and dream of a pre-season and year where a number of players come on. Last year too many of the younger players got serious injuries which destroyed their year.
