Last Qtr of last night's game on DVD

Hi All,

With the generosity from Pharace, i received a copy of the last quarter of the Tiges match against Sydney in QLD on 11/3/2006. I've crunched 21m47s of footage into something a little smaller, making it easier to share electronically.

Firstly, I used Xvid for the video and MP3 for the audio. For windows users, if it doesn't play correctly here are a few things to try.

1. Grab the Xvid codec from:
http://www.koepi.org/xvid.shtml
Xvid is an Mpeg4 video encoder, the similar to divx so it may play ok straight out of the box.

2. Windows Media player is a bit broken so try an alternate player, Media Player Classic.
Download it from sourceforge but I've provided a tinyurl for your benefit:

As I don't run Windows, I hope the above information is enough to get you going. Others may have to provide more help if requested.

Great work Pharace and Fudge! XVID rocks - my dvd player can play mpeg4 and hence xvid. Great for bittorrent movies and the like.

Recieved the disc yesterday Pharace, in between packing for my big move, and must admit, it was great to take a break and sit down with a cuppa and watch the last quarter. In particular, loved Cogs' goal from outside 50.

Thanks again for your kindness, and I hope i can repay the favour someday. Once I get a digital camera myself.

Home video of a normal AFL match and probably the NAB cup is strictly prohibited, as far as I know. There are licencing issues involved as there are commercial interests to protect. As this was a practice match way up north, with no coverage as far as I know, I feel this quarter of footage should be OK. However, if asked by the AFL (politely not threateningly) to remove the footage, I'll do it in a snap as I have no wish to infringe on the AFL's compyrightable material.
