Lay off Clever

Has talent no doubt. Just needs some desire. Just needs some aggro. Just needs to get dirty.

And I am sure I saw Cleve on High School Musical 2 the other day as a I was flicking around foxtel.

His a pup in terms of been in the system compared to the likes of Hyde, White, Schulz etc.
Hang on a sec, White was taken in the same year as Hughes, how can you possibly include him on that list?

But not Hughes. He'll be 21 in Jan, only had two preseasons and will be expected to play CHF. He has to be given fair time.

But I very much agree we have to prune older players quicker. Very much agree. I still can't fathom why Hyde and White are on our list, other than for depth maybe.

I like them, sure, and yes White's aggressive attitude we need more of. But neither of them will play in a Grand Final side. Neither of them have even one particular asset that is at a elite level. Why bother?
Serious double standards here, give Cleve time because he's been in the system 2 years, but White has been in the system 2 years and can't see why he's on the list? One may be a potential kpp, but there are numerous kids on AFL lists who are smalls who still haven't debuted in their 2nd year, that doesn't mean that they are simply depth players. I'm all for giving Hughes more time, but that needs to apply for guys like White too. He had a better debut year than most kids in the system and had injury problems in his 2nd year, certainly not the first time that's happened, in fact they call it 2nd year blues for a reason. Poor form on this call.
