Laycock

He is a decent player when fit Laycock but there is no way Sheedy will let him go without demanding the world. Why bother dealing with them?

I mean this is a club that offered Henneman and Bolton for our first round draft pick last year.

I'd offer them nothing and tell Laycock to go in the pre season draft (to another club).

Memo to Rosy

Come trade week can we at PRE organise to hire a burly surly security guard to stand at the door and bar Sheedy from coming in and trying to offload, hoodwink or sucker us into anyone of their immense list of pitiful crappola.

Essendon will not get rid of Laycock.

We preach to everyone to hold out longer for rukman (i.e. Patto) then ask other clubs to give up rucks that are about to make it.

Just stupid thinking.

Far too many pipe dreams on PRE lately and not many of them make sense. >:(

Laycock is a 22yr old ,200cm , 102 kg ,2003 pick #10, round 5 2005 norwich rising star nominee who is currently having contractual disputes with Essendon. Given the impending retirement of Safford and the unavailability of a questionable Knoble Laycock would seem to be a good fit for Richmond

i agree, he's coming into his prime and i rate him as a good potential player. but i have concerns about his fitness.

watched him play he's first few games and thought Ess have produced another potentially good player. Was marking everything around the ground.Since he's filled out a bit has become a little injury prone.Given a medical and he passes he'd be worth a shot for sure.Would sheedy take harts or Knobel for him?

I've only mentioned it because it was reported on the news that Laycock and Essendon were having a bitter contractual dispute making it a hypothetical PRE talking point as these forums are. Not forgeting that we lost our prized ruckman in similar circumstances not long ago

Do you mean Ottens?????? Do you mean 'prized' as in the sort of prize you get at the show when you put a table tennis ball in the clowns mouth. Like those big flouro, polyester scratchy dinosaurs stuffed with extra allergenic stuff. After Daffy, Ottens was the most overrated tiger in recent memory. Sorry If I've misconstrued and you meant someone else.

Not suggesting laycock is the player, but in general I think Essendon is ripe for some kind of aggressive deal.

Next year, Sheedy is in the last year of his current contract with Bummerland. If he has any hope of continuing on beyond next year, the Bummers will need to improve on the field and on the ladder. Even if he doies not continue beyond 2007, he will want to go out with all guns blazing rather than a 2006 whimper.

Now is the time to think about those 2nd and 3rd tier players currently getting an RFC game that aren't future RFC material. Get the Bummers stuck in the 1990's roundabout that the RFC was in, where we drafted average mature players for short term gain.

Sheeds may be tempted.

We need a CHF or CHB, not a slow ruckman who is struggling at Essendon!!!
