Great player, probably won't get the acknowledgement he deserves from the media as he's been out of the spotlight for a while with injury. Bit like Duncan Kellaway.

Welcome to PRE LeeToRainesToRoach.

Love that nickname!! :hihi :clap :clap
dead straight Digglersghost!
What a trifecta that was.......I still get the shivers THINKIN about it...... :hihi :hihi

Great footballer and by all reports a even better bloke.

Over the two years that Brissie got Leppa, Nathan Chapman, Nigel Lappin and Brad Scott as 17 year olds tht is when they begin to turn the corner and become a force.

Great Kp at either end and a young Justin Leppitsch would be the ideal footballer to propel Richmond to greatness over the next five years.

Well done on a stellar career.

Well done on a great career Leppa.

Brisbane have quite a few players, like Leppa, who would be universally respected across the spectrum of AFL team supporters. A bit of an exception rather than the rule.

Good post Rosy.
The key players of the once mighty Lions of 4 GFs and 3 premierships, will be remembered very fondly by most opposition supporters(perhaps not Cwood ;)).
Tough, talented and predominantly fair. The deserve the plaudits that will come their way.

gee it's a shame our captain Kane Johnson isn't held in the same light as this opposition injury prone short key defender who was made to look better courtesy of a brilliant midfield.

get it together PRE :(

Agreed DDT. Perhaps when our captain wins 3 premierships he will be held in the same light!

Beat me to it DDT!

This thread is about a player retiring.  My opinion of Leppa is nothing to do with how I feel about Kane Johnson who I happen to admire immensely. ::)

he's got 2.

1 more at this club will raise his status to 'God 'like'  :clap

Excatly.

As for Leppa....the boy from Berwick did alright for himself. Congratulations on a wonderful career!

He seems to have expressed a desire to do some coaching and a reservation about going immediately to the Lions as an assistant. He would make a very astute assistant coach, esp at a club like Richmond which has quite a few young KPPs. Next year there will likely be a few more. It would present a great opportunity for him, esp if he has ambitions to coach at a higher level.

I hope he throws his hat into the ring if TW is looking for another assistant next season. Exactly the sort of new blood we could use.

Great idea TOT. Wish I had thought of that.
