think we have to 4get the last 20 odd years. at the end 04 we were shot as a club. 2mill in debt,wooden spooner lost last 14 in a row. off field fighting. i remember our premierships in the 70's and 80, but since then we've bin a joke.always going 4 quick fixes to try and please proud supporters who were once used to winning, used being able to spruik off round finals time.to who have bin reduced to copping it off everyone and being a laughing stock( u all know what i mean)
this year was different, yes we got flogged 1st game but then we won a couple., got sum confidence and were 7-2 and looking good. we even smashed a couple teams(port and freo). we had no right to turn it around so quickly but we did. sum were thinking at this time top 4, not 8, such was the confidence.
browny got injured, we lost a couple and we battled to the finish.
we beat sydney,unlucky against wcoast, geelong just got us and a few brave performances on the road says it wasn't a bad turnaround from last year.
with millers footy smarts and terry wallace's respect among the players the future is looking alright. it seems like every one is pulling in the same direction.
the finances have improved, on field performances have improved, sponsers are lining up.
it seems everyone is adament we keep the early picks, slowly the players who r not good enuff will be off the list. patience will be the key. hoping we'l get 3 more young stars in this draft and we'l enjoy sitting back and watching them come thru as our champions.
