Cmon guys, yep I know the Geelong effort was poor, and yep I know we still have average skills, and need to keep working on things BUT we need to keep a perspective on things.

Cogs got through ok which I reckon is a huge plus, we had wins over Swans and Melb and yep I know they were probably playing/testing youngsters but hey arent we all?

Cats and Saints are the benchmark,so lets all take a breath and get to the G for the 1st game and go crazy for the guys, we all love em,and I know I get shivers when hey run out cos I know when they are on and we get loud it freaks the hell out of the opposition.

By ripping into the team we are just doing what the other supporters love us to do,so I say to them,"get stuffed", I'm hanging tough with my team and I dont bloody well care how long it takes till Sept action,I'm a tigr and always will be! :) :) :) :)

The cats will paste most top 8 sides this year. We finished 16th last year and we are not even a top 8 side this year.

I have read posts saying that the way we played i.e turn overs, poor skills etc., was unacceptable and that we haven't improved one bit. Guess what? That's what Geelong does to all sides. They did it to Port in the GF for goodness sake.

Not quite sure what everyone thought we do against Geelong in Geelong, but I didn't for one minute think the result would be any different. In fact I thought it would be worse, a lot worse. So pipe down, take a realism pill and be prepared for more loses than wins. We will not finish higher than 12th. And Geelong will be in the GF.

Take heart in the youth. Some might make it, some probably won't. I don't know and neither do any of you.

Yeah this was a good reality check. The club has said there are no excuses and this shows we are still a long way of the mark.

However anyone who expected us to go to Geelong and be competetive with the Cats were kidding themselve. Early signs were that there was no premiership hangover with strong wins over Melbourne and Brisbane with their B side yet some seem to have thought that after a couple of wins we could go to Geelong and suddenly match them on their home turf with an almost full strength side.

Geelong were the most superior side of the competition last year by a long way as showed by the Grand Final result and it looks like they might just be far and away the best side this year too if early signs are any indication.

However, the club has said it, Wallace has said, Miller has said, March has said it. The time for excuses is over. Forget the fine tuning, there is plenty to be done. A few Head Bolts still need some descent torquing to get the engine firing on all cylinders.

In fourteed days the *smile* stops and it will that performance that will ultimately shape the season ahead. Simply we must perform well, and we must win the season opener. To start the seaon poorly will start the jungle drums beating.

Stand up and be counted Tigers or pack your bags and hand your jumper on to someone who will.

We didn't even play that bad FFS.

Some people probably just saw the score update and cracked the *smile*.

I agree. 100 points at 3/4 quarter time is more about where the Cats are at than where we are.

I'm sorry jb, I just...I can't come to terms with what your post could possibly mean?

I don't get that jb. Why is it about where one club is and not about the other? To me it doesn't say much either way really. How we perform in the H&A games will talk to me. I hope we used our praccy games wisely and come out fine tuned to take on the blooze.

Who gives a rats about Geelong ! Its not about them, its about US.

Most of our bad play yesterday came about because of our own doing, not anything special by Geelong.

Geez, I couldn't give a toss about how good Geelong are. What a cop out.

Well iwas there and i tell you we were very very ordinary in fact it was embarrassing, damn embarrassing and anyone who accepts performances like that has their head in the sand, and that incldes Wallace who said it wasnt as bad as it looked.

I beg to differ most vehemently.

Perhaps Plough realises that the Cats are the reigning premiers. You know, the ones with the shiny trophy, and we are the poor dumb flogs with the splintery stick inserted.
With both lists having their final tune up for the season Plough probably would have been pleased to get within six goals at the cattery and expecting probably about eight.
One shocking quarter and twelve would not have been in the plans, but it's the workrate and gametime into the players he would have been mainly focused on.

it's not the loss that hurts, its the way we lost. i keep looking for something to be positive about and there's been very little in this preseason.

hope that all changes for round 1 when we slap the scum around!

Is this sort of post going to be raised every week? Lets all calm down. haha

I need Xanax to calm down after watching Richmond play.

Practice matches. But posters won't let it go. Bugger all was said about the game in Narranderra or the game against Melbourne. It seems as though some posters only pipe up when we lose.

As Clawsey would say.....sheesh

In general Champ.. Not just practise games. Or has the style we've been playing since Northey left been of an exciting enough style for you?

As for piping up, I'm not going to get online ebery week and defend the crap that the club dish out. Thats for people like you to do.

Wasn't a bad job in this one, Jimbob. You finally landed a few.
