Re: Welcome Liam McBean at pick 33

He makes David Bourke look like a He-Man!
His highlights show him more as a runner than a marking target. Would like to have seen him take some strong contested grabs in the clip.
This kid will need plenty of time.

Griffo on one wing, Jelly on the other.

We're redefining the AFL

For those that havent seen Liams highlights package check it out on the RFC site
Amazing mobillity for a big man even plays the role of a midfielder as a link man, also chases tackles and kicks goals.

I thought we didn't get the tall bloke on the highlights because he looks better than the draft number we got him at.
Could be a cult hero.

Welcome Mr. McBean. ;D :clap

I'm gonna get laughed out of this forum forever but from his highlights package, the way the boy moves, all long and lanky and skinny... reminds me of a young, raw..... J. Stynes.

Needs to be forgot about for the next four years.

Long term. Nothing wrong with him as a prospect but I wouldn't have gone down this path at this pick.

Does have neat skills for a big.

Tend to agree, he's a 4 year project, hopefully he's ready when Maric retires.

no vision of him rucking is a concern. described as a tall utility.

Seems a similar type to what Dean Putt was.

203cm super athletic utility who can play back but not a true ruck. Let's hope he has more aggression than Putt.

I worry these types struggle to succeed at AFL level.

Matty Lloyd said he was the smartest ruckman in the draft on 3AW. Not sure if it means much, but I think he coached him at the AIS, so he might know.

Correct. Who is the template for 203cm types making the grade as anything but a ruck?

Agree with previous comments, great athleticism but skinny and will need to put on a lot of weight to be competitive. Review in a few years.

He's a St Bernard's boy so good footy stock coming out of there. Stevie Morris will have a school chum to give tips to about lifting weights!
