Was watching Foxtel's footy panel show last night and they were discussing Richmond's plight and the level of spending within football departments and Pickering mentioned that one young Richmond player which he manages did not get a development coach until his third year at the club. I was absolutely astounded that Richmond could be operating in such a negligent manner with its young recruits.

I guess it highlights the lack of progress of our recruits and puts it all into perspective with the slow progression of players like Tambling, JON, Putt, Polo. Paterson etc, etc...

This club's football dept is run like an amateur circus.

I heard that too on the Fox Footy Teams show and pricked up my ears - if this is right then we will never have success..........

I also heard that Collingwood and the West Coast back in their heyday had 40 people in their football departments and that the Melbourne and Richmond had only 17.

The RFC are so much living in the 1960s and early 1970s it is such a poor joke.........

Feel free to dip into your pockets guys so we can hire another one.

Be part of the solution, don't just report the problems.

No wonder richmond is famous for turning the best talent in the land into average players who are forgotten by the time they are delisted.

Yep thats the one. Was just talking about his on another thread. We are one of the lowest spenders in the development area of any club and it shows.

Isn't that why we buy memberships?

Maybe some of those overpaid underperformers should take a pay cut.

I didn't realise the Carringbush and Westcoast had a special fund to raise money from supporters for development coaches! We need people to continue reporting these issues to highlight deficiences with our club.
