LIDS KNEE

I think 3 weeks would be right, that means he gets the break. However the club should let the medical experts make that call.

When he is ready he must be back into the side, giving him an extra 2 weeks is a load of *smile*.
Exactly.
When he's fit what's he going to do?
Sit on the couch and eat junkfood whilst watching the game?

You're spot on Gus leave it to the people who are actualled qualified to make decisions.

Grade 1 strain is the best we could have hoped for! great news means there is no tear! 2 weeks will b fine, the poor fella would not know wat 2 do if u gave him 3 weeks off! Just would make sure no other damage was done to the knee.

Didnt know lids got injured as have been away this weekend and didnt see the injury or Brett and am only going by what has been posted here.

If they are saying medial ligament then Brett will miss 1- 2 weeks (most likely 2) if strained, and 4-6 if a tear.

Get well soon Brett and the rest might do him good anyways.

Unfortunate timing for Deledio. Was playing his best game for the year. Kind of agree with Phantom and give him an extra week. Or at least give him an easy game down at Coburg. let him pick up an easy 20 touches in half a game at the Burgers.

I just heard on the news it would only be 1-2 weeks

Lids was testing the knee (strapped) on the boundary after he was taken off, and after the game walked on the ground with a big smile on his face, limping of course, and even gave a signed ball to one of our supporters, he'll be back very soon, no extra weeks on the sidelines required IMO.

i agree gpb. you can't wrap him in cotton wool and expect him to develop. give him however long he needs

giving him an extra week off is a ridiculous suggestion. he is a 19yo and doesn't need a rest if his body is right

I can understand people thinking this may be a blessing in disguise.

Just a strain and a fortnight off might be just the rest that niggle (groin?) needs to get right.

It will put extra pressure on Bling and Meyer but maybe that's just what they need, too.

Very relieved that it's a pissant strain.

Yeah now that I look at it, Phantom's suggestion doesn't make any sense. "If he needs 1-2, rest him for 4"? When he is fit, play him. It would be stupid not to play him if we had gotten over the injury.

If he's passed fit he plays; as long he is not at an extra risk of a serious knee injury we've got to play him.

Remember he got to get used to playing with injuries. Champions do that week in week out. It's one of their hallmarks!
