Uncontested mark - I dont rate uncontested marks. Nothing special about uncontested marks, anyone can take em.

Anyone that is who can find space that is.

I would prefer to see uncontested marks inside 50 over contested marks anyday. It means you have two good players, one who can find space and another who can hit him.

If you are looking for overated stats Richmond was ranked 4th for contested marks and 2nd for contested posessions versus direct opponents last year must be why we were such a contender.

For someone who has so much to say on the skills of the game (or in particular the lack of skills in duds), was amazed that he doesn't rate a player's ability to get free - granted many uncontested marks like Joel Bowdo's are as a result of playing one man extra down back.   Whenever I went fwd when playing, I found this the hardest thing to acheive of all the skills - and it is a skill, not just a speed or endurance thing, getting free is hard, yet some guys have a great sense and skill for this - ala Crawford!  And when you consider they get tagged too - great skill!  Do you not rate handball receives too Craigy? ;D

1 - kick in play - Newman or Browny (ironic isn't it?)
2 - kick for goal - Schulz - stats are with him - though not fully proven yet.
3 - contested mark - Richardson, an Kella wouldn't be too far behind.
4 - uncontested mark - Pettifer - and Polo is getting good when coming outa defence
5 - tagger - Johnson - and Polo has had some success.
6 - endurance to run all day - Deledio, more in 05 though, and Simmo in 06 easily!
7 - run with the ball - Deledio, again in 05, Raines and Hyde in 06
8 - get the ball out of packs - Tuck - hard working son of (?) great player  ;D
9 - shepherd - Actually reckon it's Hall's best attribute
10 - tackle - Coughlan midfield, Krak up fwd - vastly different amounts of opportunities.
11 - best in traffic (composure, vision) - J.Bowden - and Brown at his best
12 - best goal sense - Brown - indisputable, could be blindfolded and would still be able to point percy in the right direction :hihi
