this draft is one of the most povital for the rfc in recent years, it may determine how long our crack at the big one lasts. we have the makings of a decent team but i belive that we lack the depth to be a genuine contender. we need to continue for one more draft focusing on youth and maybe pick up one top up player in the preseason draft

then this time next season we may be locked and loaded and ready to trade for a needs based player to help us have a crack at the big one.

Yep we seem to be auctioning our first pick for a ready made player, just like we did in 2002 and 2003.

It's standard practice for a coach entering the last year of his contract (Frawley needed to make the finals to have the extra year's clause activated, which is was anyway). We "support" our coach to the hilt in trading our future for their careers.

It is a half cocked, typical Richmond thing to do. Long term it costs us again and again. Witness Stafford for our first pick in 2001 for another example of being "locked and loaded".

We desperately need more key forward and ruck depth. Trading any picks is stupid. Trading our players is out of the question because our development of them has been so poor that other clubs do not rate them.

Wallace is out of his mind if he thinks we are a couple of players away from having a serious look at the finals. We have some decent kids but we have some deficiencies that are still not being addressed. It's all been said here before and we're just repeating ourselves.

If he thinks we're 'locked and loaded' then he's so full of himself that he believes his own spin. I'm over him.

We do? Rumours are vague at the moment I'd wait until it actually happens.

I'll vote for half cocked..........now how do I register my vote again?

Wallace quote "We are locked and loaded for 09"

What he really meant: "I am in the last year of my contract and after taking short cuts (to satisfy my massive ego) in the first 2 years instead of bottoming out and trading away overpriced players like the Hawks did (why the hell did I knock that job back for christ sack) I am pretty much stuffed unless I can get Kerr."

Geez, another thread hijacked by the whiners clattering on keyboards when they really should be in their right place coaching or list managing an AFL club. How is it that Mr.Magic and velo haven't been poached into one of these highly influential positions? - considering their incredible insights on the modern game (not to mention ability to read minds!). ;)

Locked and loaded ???
Depends what we're aiming at the opposition..a big gun or a water pistol

We got our water pistol last year in Jordan McMahon.

You don't need to be a genius or an expert to have an insight into something. This forum is a prime example, especially those with post counts in the thousands...

I wouldn't take one of these 'highly influential' positions. Who'd want to work for such a failure of a company? (no smiley required)

Why is it when people have an opinon on this site they are called whiners? so just because some of these posters on this forum havent played or coached at afl level gives them no right to an opinion or there opinion is wrong?

:clap, well said mate.

Fully loaded.

We were 2 metres behind Geelong and Hawthorn (and every other team) before Grand Final day................

Now we are up there and right amongst them.

Bring on 2009.

More Wallet BS, just more spin to try and get a ready made recruit to try and save his neck. The only gun that is locked and loaded is the one that is aimed squarely at his head and he knows it. One more year of failure and he is out.

When Plough told us we are locked and loaded, it turns out that he meant that they spent the pre season here:
