We very nearly got overrun against the Crows, too. It was just that we had a big enough cushion to weather it.We do need to question fitness. Have been over run in last quarter in all matches, except Adelaide

Balmey said last night" Dusty had lot going on but is expecting a big game"Dusty is not fit. WTF its round 6 We are not a retirement home for fading legends. Get fit or *smile* off.
Feels worse when members don't even know this. Huge kudos to Julius.Never again must we come into a season so poorly prepared. No run compared to most other teams & too many soft tissue injuries. Not good enough.
Put it into context though. We have the highest paid coach (rightly so) soaking up a fair bit of that. It means we have a lot less to go around to fitness and assistants.Spot on last 3 seasons our fitness and medical side has been rubbish sugar coat how much you like club took the easy way and I don’t want to hear soft cap or covid etc bs all clubs on the same page now.
Caesar’s reports told the true story from early on.Feels worse when members don't even know this. Huge kudos to Julius.
Why did we have a sh!t pre season? We got knocked out of the finals early so that is not an excuse. Is it a preparation thing or just bad luck with the injuries?Never again must we come into a season so poorly prepared. No run compared to most other teams & too many soft tissue injuries. That’s what I’d like to know. But when I see clubs like Collingwood running above the ground compared to us, that’s unacceptableWhy did we have a sh!t pre season? We got knocked out of the finals early so that is not an excuse. Is it a preparation thing or just bad luck with the injuries?
Often a case of young n desperately hungry compared to older n well fed. At the elite level it's sometimes as little as one or two % that can make a massive difference. But when I see clubs like Collingwood running above the ground compared to us, that’s unacceptable
The pies are seriously fit. They cover the ground better than any other team.Pies also had flu go through a couple and a Covid case.
Didn’t bother them today.
The tracker on the website was used as evidence earlier- we covered 279.3k on Monday- the PIes covered 280. We covered 38.1 at high speed. The pies 38. The pies average speed in attack was 7.6, in defence it was 8. in attack our was 7.7, in defence it was 7.4. They made 282 sprints, 24 repeat sprints. we made 260 sprints and 31 repeat sprints. The pies are seriously fit. They cover the ground better than any other team.
I don’t buy the ageing list as an excuse when it comes to our running patterns. Endurance is better at 30 than 20 for most people. It’s the way we train and how much we are carrying around in our frame that has made us more unfit.
Does anyone have confidence that Maurice Rioli for example can get fit enough to play at the level required with this current setup?
Interesting to find this stats.. Adelaide game our numbers were worse. Higher differential to AdelaideAFL app. Go to the Tracker function on the game page.
Total km’s 283 - 279
High Speed km’s 43-38
It’s a tad simplistic but we aren’t fit and we are slow
