Eddie can have all the money, but he definetly has issues in trying to recruit 'big name' players.
how true is this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they cant recruit barney rubble speaking of rubble go pies lmao

It's amazing isn't? Brisbane retain yet another of their stars ::).
Never ceases to amaze me that they can continue to fit the likes of Voss, Brown, Black, Lappin, Akermanis and Power etc. under there salary cap. I guess it would be easier now than it was but it does make you wonder. Full credit to the admin & Matthews they don't let many of these guys get away. Can't helpbut feel the pinch is going to come somewhere now that the team is in decline.

Dont worry ToO - he would of been doing the right thing by himself and hanging on till the 11th hour to get himself a better contract up there even though imo he would of wanted to stay up there anyway. Bargaining out till the last hour the lions would of been desperate to keep him anyway and he would of known it. Alot like Acker has done in recent times but with a more distinguished approach if you know what i mean...

It's cheaper to live in Brisbane than Melbourne I'm sure that would have alot to do with it. Better weather too ;D.

His family is in Melbourne ToO - I dont think any of the reasons you nominate would even of come into his decision what so ever buddy.

Didn't know that Tubs, but you don't think players would love the lifestyle up North?

I'd bloody love to play up there for the amount of money he is on ToO- hey base payments would do me.... :hihi :hihi

But for many family does play a big part and believe me that would of been a big bargaining chip for the boy. I was surprised when they said on the footy show he had been up there for about 7-8 years now. Gee, now looking at that he has got 3 premierships but given alot to the club as well - would of been a massive bargaining tool also in that he has paid his dues now after that many years and wants to come back home. Good on him though - like the way he goes about it.
