Just got back from lunch at tigerland which came about from someone through Lutt who won the honour at a RFC club Auction. The lunch was hosted by Neville Crowe with some  of the 67 premiership side in attendance.Past players inlcuded "Bull" Richardson,Roger Dean,Francis Bourke,*smile* Clay,Mike Perry,Mike green,Tony Jewell & Billy Barrot.Gary March spoke for a few minutes indicating he would be the type to be in the background & Terry Wallace will very much be the face of Richmond.March spoke quite well & also would appear to be more supporter friendly than Casey however time will tell how good a president he is.The Concept Sports deal to me is a major concern.Spoke with Neville Crowe who mentioned the players are back into the swing of things but TW was disappointed with the condition of a couple of the younger players when they returned however they have been given a rocket from TW.Also got the impression he is very happy with March being the new president.Spoke with Mike Green for awhile who talked about his career at tigerland. The past players in attendance all appeared to be very good friends & made us guests very welcome. The past players now feel part of the club & it is great idea they are used for these types of functions.Went down to the gym where a few players were working out.Deledio has has shaved off the blond tips & looked in great shape,Patrick Bowden looked in good nick,Richo had his wrist strapped the result of post season surgery others working out included Meyer,Chaffey,Simmonds,Hartigan,Raines,Gaspar,Hall & a couple of players I didn't recognise. The facilities are greatly improved & all in all it was a great lunch.Lutt may cover what I've missed.

Good to see the past players feel welcome at the club.

Sounds like a great lunch, mb. I'm very jealous.

I also enjoyed the lunch & the past players were all friendly &
had a chat with most of them. I apologised to Tony Jewell for
giving him a spray after a game in 1979 when I yelled out that
the backline was too slow. He had a laugh but did agree it was
a slow backline held together by a willingness of each player to
commit to halping out their teammates at all costs.
Gary March spoke well & indicated that budgeting for 150k profit
next year which will be exceeded if they can land some more
sponsors.Indicated they are talking to Jihn Ilham(Crazy Johns)
He stated that our debt of 4million is hurting us & we are asking
for AFL assistance to reduce this debt.
We are likely to receive AFL grant to further develope facilities
at Punt road inc Gym extension, car park & medical facilities
which will also provide an income stream for the club.

This deal has not been good for the club.Refer to previous correspondance re Concept Sport's financial position.

I totally agree, Ive got quite a problems with the arrangement bt the RFC and Concept Sports.

Then March heads up our marketing. Have you seen any initiatives that are any good? Caps, Keyrings, Mobile Phone signings. Hardly exciting stuff
