Lunch with Bucks

Ms Braxton scored some invitations for us to go to the polo last weekend, and during lunch the hoi polloi battled over a number of ridiculous auction items, many organised by former Magpie Craig Kelly.

Lot 1 was the opportunity to have lunch with Captain FigJam. You and four friends could have lunch with Eddie's bride, and a friend of his, at a suitable time and location that would fit in with his training and match schedules.

Someone forked out ~2-3K for this opportunity, but the funny thing was that the cost of lunch was not included in the prize: the winner would also have to fork out for Bucks and his companion on top of the winning bid.

This got me thinking about where and when I would take Bucks for lunch if I had the highest bid, which wouldn't leave me with much spare cash. Besides, I'd want to get some bang for my Bucks so I decided that Thursday April 12, the day before the Pies play the Tigers, would be a good time to take Bucks to one of those dodgy Asian bakeries in Springvale or Footscray. The meal would be cheap but the gastrointestinal cost would be priceless.

Any further suggestions, folks?

And finally, keep an eye out for any other opportunities to spread some Salmonella through an opposition club! I'm sure there are a few on here who would pass the hat aro9und for such a good cause!

Funny this topic be brought up.
My father stayed with me Tuesday night, and he told he how he went to an "exclusive" restaurant in NE Victoria last Friday, with just the 3 tables in a B&B, with my Uncle and Auntie.
Anyway, when he walked in the other 2 tables were full, and the table next to his was a youngish couple and one of their parents and a near new-born. Yes, it was good old Bucks.
My father is into the cricket, and it happened to be the first final Aust v. England where Paul Collingwood in the 2nd innings guided the Poms home. My father went out to the car (radio) to listen to the cricket score, and every time he came back Bucks and his old man asked Dad how the Aussies were going. About the 3rd time, near the end of the match, I guess Dad couldn't help himself and answered that some bugger looked like beating Australia, and then looked at Nathan and said you may have heard of him. Apparently Nathan started smiling and said Paul Collingwood, to which the 3 of them had a bit of a laugh.
I could go on and say more, but I hear my wife calling me.

I got some wicked food posioning from a Vietnamese restaurant in Victoria St. (Richmond) once-I reccomend you browse some of those fine establishments, obviously choosing the grimiest.

Would seem poetic.

Haha Figjam. Not enough people call him that these days.

TBH - i was part of setting up the Polo and Auction - in fact i was a spotter in the crowd for the auction if you remember any of that?? I work at ESP under Craig....currently setting up the SW 20 20 match on Sunday - exciting stuff! SO U SHOULD ALL COME ALONG!!!! GOld coin donation - all proceeds to Shane Warne Foundation!! ;D

I see where your coming from.

Perhaps a plate of Spaghetti Salmonella from a bain marie at Airport West Shopping Centre would do the trick.

Shame the Rajah Sahib has closed. That would have gone down a treat :hihi

Ahh, the Rajah Sahib with Mr Larry Mendonca. He's a great host Larry, he'll wipe away the mould from your plate for you!

Actually I did eat there twice and lived to tell the tale.

i'd take Bucks fishing and use him for burley. Nice lunch for the sharks!
