I watched the Footy Show last night.
Looks like Eddie will leave no dollar unspent to get Collingwood back up the ladder. They can't spend over the odds on players so they will end up with a cast of thousands in their coaches, support staff etc.
I can't help but be reminded of the Alan McAllister days when they thought they had so much money they would turn Lulie Street into "MaggieLand" and be the first AFL club with its own precinct.
Budget disaster followed soon after, despite all their supposed advantages.
Has Eddie's ego finally won the battle? Will the magpies spend all their money over the next few years on sideshows like their training facility, the biggest coaching team ever assembled and other nonsense?
Here's hoping.
