Magpie supporters are still the worst

i took my partner to the her first game of footy on thursday night and because she lived in collingwood/fitzroy area for the past 10 years her team was collingwood. After friendly banter towards each other leading up to the game she was appalled at the magpie supporters behaviour. she asked me are they all like the people that were sitting in our area (2nd tier in the pocket where mcmahon handballed through the goal line). i said to her that i believed the majority were, but there was exceptions. She is now a tiger supporter. They were disgusting were her words.

What do others think about the crazy magpie supporters?

I think they are passionate about their team just the same as we are about the Tiges.

Agree Dirk Diggler, I liken scumwood supporters to ours...feral and passionate - they come from the same ilk as us at the end of the day with both neighbourhoods bordering each other...

Carlton fans are the worst - dumb, delusional and way to many northern suburbaners with NFI...

Yeah, with some exceptions they are the worst. Still have bad memories of Vic Park terraces. Try playing against Collingwood Districts FC - still have my stitches scar as a keep sake ;D

don't get me started ....... god I hate that lot, thinking they are all that and then some - when in actual fact, they are nothing more than losers. Pie supporters have no class and it is not just a few of them that are problematic, it is the majority. They have believed the hype for too long about them being number 1 in Melbourne - what a joke, they don't win premierships so they are a long way from number 1 except in the eyes of McChins.

All supporters of rival clubs have their bad ones, but they also have good ones. The ones I really can't stand are Hawthorn, for some reason they're among the most feral and very few of them seem to actually have any genuine football knowledge.

How true - I'm glad its not just me who thinks so. I find it amusing what Hawthorn supporters 'boo' at during games.

I put it down to the fact that really they have only a small number of core "supporters" who regularly attend games and have "genuine football knowledge" (think if their attendances when they are in the bottom half).

However they have a larger than average cohort (as a percentage) of fair-weather supporters, and when the bandwagon is up and running these less knowledgeable ones start turning up. They don't worry about little things like the rules because they think success is a fait accompli which they deserve (hence the arrogance) and they are just aboard for the ride.

I don't know the actual demographics, but it wouldn't surprise me if many of the Hawthorn fair-weather supporters buy memberships, but just don't attend games when they're not winning. HFC traditionally has an affluent supporter base, and perhaps they can afford memberships.

carlton supporters should be locked up for 1o years and having Brittany Spears songs played to em 24/7.Thatll fix em.But south autralians are absolute shockers.I had an old mate shift back to Warrnambool to live because he couldnt stand them pretending they knew about anything.I reckon the Kiwis should adopt em....

south australians r proof tasmanians can swim which is why both adelaide and port adelaide folk r such hidious breed.
i hope the afl doesnt decide to expand into alice springs as i think there supporters would be beyond feral and crowd violence at games would rise dramatically (the grog squad would be angles compared to the hoons up there).
As for my most hated supporters carlton and essendon r the disgust of victoria and the AFL considering they are so arrogant and smug, i prefer a passionate pies fan over those prix anyday.
