Leave promising kids at Coburg to DEVELOP (remember that word?). I'm pretty sure thats why our kids are stalling at a certain level. In racing, you race your 2 year olds very lightly or they are stuffed (with the exception of a few champion blue diamond winners). Give the kids a TASTE at senior level, but let them develop, learn and taste success in the VFL, rather than getting physically and mentally battered at AFL. We are 4-5 years away from a flag. The Reiwolts,Connors, peitersons, edwards, even Tamblings, Pattisons and Deledios (well maybe not deledio) etc should spend 2007and 2008 at Coburg and then be playing their 50th games when we make the finals and their 100th games in a flag year.
As much as I love to see 'em, leave 'em. If we had the old seconds curtain raiser, we could do both. How about we start an online PRE petition to play VFL games as curtain raisers to AFL games?
