Why would he come back down to Melbourne, when the Gold Coast are going to be up and running shortly. You can bet the Gold Coast powers that be, will be "consulting" with Blight about a lot of things, not necessarily coaching but player development would be right up his alley way.

I don't think Blight would be the right coach for Richmond, after the way St Kilda treated him for their 'god boy" Grant Thomas. With our history of blood letting on coaches, he'd be a very brave boy to take on the Tigers, but you can never say never, it would have to be one hell of an offer to get him here and I reckon you save a few hundred thousand on getting somebody already here and keen to coach, that has a good coaching record behind them as well.

Tigercubs, there is ZERO chance of Blight coaching Richmond. Just out of curiosity, what age range are you yourself in? I get the feeling you are a young kid so I don't want to be harsh.

Last night in Blight's call on the game, I heard him say:

"If you want to be a good kick, kick high".. went onto say "...the rest is luck"

:o

That'll go down a treat at training. We could set up a training base way out west, find some wheat silos, get Billy Brownless down there as a specialist goal-kicking coach...

Now I'm no coach, but I reckon there might be a bit more to it than that.

Blight as coach of anything to do with RFC? No thanks.

He should be second on the list behind Matthews. Unfortunately though I don't think either of them would consider it for less than a billion dollars!

Heard that too Dessy - had a small chuckle. Perhaps it was more off a comment on some of the low kick that don't even get half way up the posts. But he is correct about the run in speed / motion - it must be in proportion to the kick itself.

But if we offer him a 5 year deal he may consider :fing32

U must be kidding. Don't want him anywhere near our football club.

Are you serious? The man is a giant of our sport, and is PROVEN to get results. He won flags as a player, and flags as a coach!

The sad part for us that after what happened at St Kilda he wouldn't go near basket case clubs like St Kilda, Richmond or Footscray. Only WCE, Port, Brisbane, Essendon or Hawthorn could drag him out of retirement, and maybe Carlton...
