When he took over at the Crows he created a storm.

Blight's arrival at the Crows at the end of the 1996 season was marked with dramatic effect, with the delisting of four ageing club stalwarts Tony McGuinness, Chris McDermott, Andrew Jarman, and Greg Anderson.
This attracted great criticism at the time, but Blight was vindicated by winning the AFL premiership in 1997, and again in 1998. He retired as coach at the end of the 1999 season after an unsuccessful year finishing 13th . His total record as adelaide coach was 74 games, 41 wins, 33 losses.

In 1994, 95 and 96 they finished well outside the finals.

Blight came in, got rid of the deadwood and changed the culture and mindset to turn the club around immediately.

The point of this thread is that I don't care about farewell games, nostalgia, favourite players, milestone games, centenary games, etc, etc.

I only care about premierships.

I don't care how it's done, if it means we delist the likes of Richo, Bowden etc, then so be it.

We will not be successful unless we are ruthless and make some big decisions.

Don't dilly dally Richmond, just do whatever it takes to get us the premiership we all want.

Agree. We are at the point where anything that can be done to improve our future position must be done. Whoever the new coach is will need to assess who on our list will be part of our next challenge for a premiership, probably something that Wallace never did, unless he really thought that the likes of Pettifer, Schulz, Hyde, Kingsley etc. were elite players.

Big decisions don't necessarily lead to results, e.g. we went further backwards after Matthew Knights was managed out. But if that's what the new coach feels must be done, then do it. If he forces Richo into retirement against his wishes though, he damn well better come up with the goods...

Richo won't be there when/if we make it to out next GF. (hope I'm wrong)

Whilst I would be happy to keep him as he is worth keeping (and cousins for that matter), if the new coach wants to sweep the place out well and truly then I will bring the pan and bin.

Tired of the promises, tired of the soft, weak, gutless performances.

Give me a team that busts it's gut week in week out and I 'll be happy.

Ah stuff it. Cut Richo and all the other veterans. Sick of this crap. I'm 27 years and all I've seen is poo. Time to make some serious changes. The only memories I have of the RFC are the unsuccessful ones.
